5 Worst WWE RAW General Managers of all time

General Managers are now as big a part of modern day WWE as some of the wrestlers themselves. With most episodes of RAW starting with promos, GM's get more exposure or overexposed (depends on your view) than ever before.

A lot of fans have been complaining recently about Baron Corbin being a terrible General Manager and I'm here to refute that train of thought. If you think Corbin is bad, you clearly didn't watch large chunks of WWE between 2007 and 2012.

Corbin may abuse his power wantonly but that's what a heel is supposed to do. He's desperately trying to cling onto power despite the obstacles in his path and he doesn't mind crossing the line to do it. That's what a good heel does.

With that being said, let's take a trip down memory lane and take a look at some of the worst general managers in the history of Monday Night RAW. If you think Corbin is a terrible GM, think again.

#5 Anonymous RAW GM

Sure, the anonymous RAW GM had its moments. However. overall, it was painful. Replacing Bret Hart as RAW GM in 2010, the anonymous RAW GM storyline ended up continuing til 2012. Through a large part of this run, a laptop placed at ringside personified the anonymous GM with Michael Cole conveying instructions.

There was a lot of speculation during the storyline regarding the identity of RAW's anonymous GM and it probably wouldn't have made it to this list if not for the terrible way in which the storyline ended.

How did WWE capitalize after 2 years of this storyline going on? It was finally revealed that Hornswoggle was the man behind the anonymous RAW GM's laptop.

This all leads to one question - why?

#4 John Laurinaitis

You could argue that John Laurinaitis was good at getting heel heat but it was for all the wrong reasons. Although his over the top "People Power" gimmick did help a little, he constantly flubbed his lines.

However, one thing you may remember from this run is the hilarious Cena vs Laurinaitis match which main-evented 2012's Over The Limit. Thanks to the Big Show, Laurinaitis actually beat Cena against all odds and probably logic. It looked like Show was going to chokeslam the RAW GM but he ended up hitting Cena with the KO punch instead to turn hell, again.

His run as GM came to an ended later in 2012 after Mr. McMahon fired him.

The most memorable parts of Johny Ace's run as a GM has to have been his feud with CM Punk during what was deemed the Summer of Punk. Laurinaitis is currently married to The Bella's mother.

#3 Bret Hart

If you're trying to jog your memory to try and remember when Bret was RAW General Manager, I can't blame you. Hart was briefly RAW General Manager in 2010 and his run as GM has to be one of the shortest in WWE history with the 'Hitman' lasting just 28 days.

The storyline reason for Hart's departure was Mr. McMahon firing him for failing to maintain order on RAW with the Nexus wreaking havoc at the time.

Bret Hart is undoubtedly one of the best to ever step foot inside the squared circle, a technical genius who made pro wrestling look like it was a real fight. However, his run as RAW GM was not a good one, not that it was his fault. WWE pulled the plug on the storyline before it could even gain footing. The most likely reason behind this was Bret's inability to take bumps because of insurance issues.

#2 Mike Adamle

Mike Adamle was a professional football player and then an announcer for the NFL before he joined the WWE. Adamle started off as an interviewer but is best remembered for his numerous mistakes including referring to Jeff Hardy as "Jeff Harvey" on his first night on the job. Adamle then replaced Joey Styles as ECW's play-by-play announcer. In July 2008 he was somehow named as the General Manager of RAW despite being best known for his numerous mistakes.

It's almost a miracle that anyone even remembers Mike Adamle's run as RAW GM. His only accomplishment was introducing the Championship scramble match. He later announced his resignation after stating that he wasn't being able to come with the pressures that came with the position of being WWE RAW GM.

#1 Every Guest RAW GM/Host

2009 wasn't the best year for WWE as far as I'm concerned. The worst sin WWE committed in 2009 was the guest host era - having a celebrity host RAW every week regardless of how much they knew or cared about WWE. It stopped watching WWE for a couple of years thanks to the guest host era.

This era started in 2009 and went on till mid-2011 and in spite of one or two entertaining hosts, most were not entertaining at all. Some of the worst of these include Jeremy Piven and Ken Jeong (who hosted together) and Ozzy Osbourne who just wasn't suited for the role. Snoop Dogg was hilarious, as always.
