5 Fantasy tag teams that we never got to see

Goliath and Goliath

WWE has been going through a bit of tag team renaissance as of late. Teams such as The New Day, Enzo and Cass, The Dudley’s, The Vaud Villains and The newly returning Wyatt family have all shown to be excellent in regards to the tag team division.

Tag teams are of course an effective way to build up any superstar, and they are the reason why some superstars become World Champions with an example of Edge and Christian, who both got to obtain the big one in their career. Wrestlers team with their brothers, their associates, or even the person they hate, just for a shot at success.

Throughout history, we have seen many superstars come and go in the WWE, but there have been many superstars that any fan would have loved to have seen team up to try and take the tag division and storm.

Here are 5 fantasy teams that we never got to see together.

#5 Jericho & The Miz

Y2-Awesome

The solid team of the Miz and Chris Jericho would be spectacular to watch in action.

Just imagine the two of these brilliant heels as a tag team. It would be easy to see both of these men as the top tag team in the business.

On one side, we have the loudmouth, the Real World superstar, the Miz, who has been WWE Champion before, while on the other hand, we have the best in the world at what he does and arguably the best at being a heel, Chris Jericho.

These two superstars have been on the top of their game for a long time, and both of them have won tag team championships once, however, they have never won it together.

Yet it’s extremely unlikely we will ever see this because of Jericho’s career winding down, if they ever both team up, it could be a great opportunity for at least the Miz to resurrect his career and maybe win the WWE championship again.

#4 Cody Rhodes & Bad News Barrett

They could have been huge

These two superstars were two of the most talented superstars in the WWE. Now Cody Rhodes and Wade Barrett have been released from WWE as of late. They both asked for their release and it is quite obvious that both men were not happy with the way the WWE were using them.

Wade Barrett and Cody Rhodes are phenomenal athletes, and should have been main event superstars. A team with Rhodes and Barrett would have been excellent to watch.

Just imagine if they were partnered together before they got tired of their positions within the company. A tag team of the two may have propelled both men to glory and sit in their rightful spots on the top of the card, especially with the brand split coming up.

A team of the two men would be wonderful to watch in the ring and not to mention the mic work both men could have brought to the table would have been spectacular.

#3 Sheamus & Finlay

Attack of the Irish

Oh what could have been?

It was unfortunate that these guys just missed each other's prime with regards to their time in WWE. The two Irish men did actually go up against each other a few times when Sheamus first arrived.

Two Irish brawlers as a team would have been brilliant in regards to the overall product. They would happily have taken the fight to absolutely anyone with their characters. You would have Sheamus as the hard hitting young gun of the group and Finlay as the hard-hitting veteran.

There would no doubt that they would have become tag champions at some point.

#2 Mr. Perfect & Dolph Ziggler

The definition of perfection

Both of these men were technically gifted, both with long flowing blonde locks and both men thinking that they were the best looking men on the planet, Mr. Perfect and Dolph Ziggler would have made a great tag team.

The two men would be perfect heels that complement each other and it has to be said that their in-ring styles go together perfectly. With their smug promos, they would undoubtedly gather a lot of heat from the fans

Maybe the two superstars could have called themselves “The Perfect Show-Offs,” it’s just a shame that the two charismatic stars were born in different eras.

#1 Andre the Giant & Big Show

What could have been?

I guess this was a bit of an obvious number one. The mega duo of Big Show and Andre the Giant.

Lots of fans often debate over who would win in a one on one match between both men, but it has to be said, wouldn't they make an amazing tag team?

The two giants would be able to take anybody who came up against them and squash them and let’s not forget that the team would have a student and teacher feel to it.

You could definitely see these two having a huge reign as tag champs (who could stop them). Not only would they be an unstable tag team they could have even gone on and dominate the singles completion as a team to claim the WWE and IC title belts. It could have all led to a massive showdown between other factions trying to unmount the giants off the top of the mountain.

We never will know what could have been I guess.
