What will happen for the former NXT North America Champion?

In NXT, Johnny Gargano has proven himself to be one of the developmental brand's most talented Superstars.

A former NXT Tag Team Champion, Gargano briefly held the North American championship, before losing it to current holder Velveteen Dream.

More recently, Gargano was part of four NXT stars called up, alongside Aleister Black, Ricochet, and NXT Champion and friend/rival of Gargano, Tomasso Ciampa.

Though this is obviously a big step for all four Superstars, Gargano's future on the main roster is now in doubt, through no fault of his own.

According to the Observer, though Ricochet and Black are now considered fully-fledged main roster Superstars, Ciampa's recent injury has made WWE hesitant to pull the trigger on Gargano.

With the future unclear for both members of DIY, Gargano could stay back in NXT for the time being.
