In late 2017, WWE Superstar Paige suffered a legit injury after receiving a kick from Sasha Banks, at a house show. The injury would result in Paige being forced to retire months later. As expected, Sasha Banks received tons of backlash following the incident, with fans bashing her on social media for ending Paige's career due to her recklessness in the ring. The hate reached such a point that Paige herself had to publicly come out in Sasha's defense and explain that it wasn't her fault.

Paige has stated in the past that her WWE retirement wasn't Banks' fault
Paige further explained that she called the move and told Banks to do it, to which the latter obliged. Last year, WWE presented a Chronicle titled 'The Boss', in which Banks opened up about receiving severe backlash for what happened on that fateful night. Banks could be seen shedding tears over what she went through around that time. It's been three years since that incident, and it seems highly unlikely that Paige will ever come back to the ring as an active Superstar. Banks is currently on SmackDown and is the Blue brand's Women's Champion.
