The two men started out in the business together. In fact, a match between the two men helped WWE first notice John Cena. The rest, as they say, is history. Joe went on to TNA, to carve his legacy there. Cena became the top dog (not the Big Dog) in WWE.
Both men deserve a chance to shine at a WWE pay-per-view event, right now. If given the chance to work a program together, we're certain they could absolutely do wonders.
