"The Great One" left WWE to become a movie star and you would have to be living under a rock (see what I did there?) to be unaware of his Hollywood mega-stardom.

The Rock was first bitten by the acting bug in 2001 when he got a role in The Mummy Returns. He would reprise the role a year later in his first leading role in The Scorpion King.

WWE loved having one of their Superstars, mixing it up with the Hollywood elite. But over the next three years, he would be seen less and less on WWE television, and in 2004, he would leave the company. He would return for sporadic appearances, and his feud with John Cena saw them headline WrestleMania two years in a row.

The Rock is not only one of the biggest action movie stars in history but also one of the hard-working actors in the business today. Since his first role in 2001, he has been in nearly 50 movies, 20 of which he has been the leading role.

The Rock remains one of the most popular WWE Superstars in history and has returned to the company for many guest spots and appearances. This year, he even became co-owner of the XFL, proving that the relationship between him and Vince is still as good as ever.
