Mere days before WrestleMania 35, Asuka lost her SmackDown Women's Title to Charlotte Flair on an episode of SmackDown Live, in a match that was added at the last minute. This match was a replacement to the #1 contender's Fatal Four Way match featuring Naomi, Carmella, Mandy Rose, and Sonya Deville. Soon after, the four women and Asuka were added to the Women's battle royal at the Show of Shows.
Naomi wasn't pleased with what had happened, and proceeded to take a shot at her booking on the biggest show of the year. The disgruntled Superstar retweeted WWE's announcement for the Women's battle royal, and asked whether this match was also going to get canceled.
This led to a string of WWE fans bashing Naomi for not being thankful and always complaining. Superstars like Titus O'Neil chimed in on the discussion and staunchly supported Naomi.

Given the opportunity to script WWE’s next big storyline, Abhilash would treat fans to the second installment of The Bloodline Civil War. He would book Roman Reigns to re-form The Bloodline with The Usos and Sami Zayn upon his comeback. The angle would see The Tribal Chief-led group go head-to-head with The Rock, Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, and Jacob Fatu in a blockbuster family feud.
