5 WWE Superstars who must appear on the Stone Cold Podcast - Part 1

Stone Cold Steve Austin last hosted his podcast on the WWE Network in August 2016

In December 2014, the Stone Cold Podcast debuted on the WWE Network, quickly becoming the streaming service's most controversial show to date. Stone Cold Steve Austin welcomed Mr. McMahon to the show as his premiere guest and discussed a variety of taboo topics that would normally never be brought up on WWE TV.

Following the success of that interview, Austin's podcast became an exciting staple of the Network, and over the next year, he sat down with a number of notable names from Triple H to AJ Styles.

However, the last Stone Cold Podcast featured Dean Ambrose in early August and the show hasn't been renewed since.

One can only hope that the podcast is merely taking a hiatus due to Stone Cold's busy schedule and not because it suffered the same fate as Legends with JBL (i.e. cancellation). That said, these would be five fantastic guests for the Stone Cold Podcast.

#5 Samoa Joe

Samoa Joe is WWE Raw’s newest acquisition

It's no secret that Stone Cold Steve Austin has been a major advocate of Samoa Joe for the past few years and pulled for him to be signed by WWE when Joe departed TNA in February 2015.

Sure enough, it wasn't long before the Samoan Submission Machine made his way over to WWE and debuted on the NXT brand.

Joe may be a fresh face in WWE, especially given that he made his main roster debut only just recently, but he is far from a rookie in the business. He has been beating people up all around the world since the dawn of the millennium and has had a fascinating journey to the WWE.

Austin proved in his podcast with AJ Styles that he won't shy away from talking about TNA, so it would be great to hear him and Joe discuss Joe’s tenure in the Nashville-based organization, what led to him coming to WWE, and what he has in store for fans now that he has arrived on Raw.

#4 Goldberg

Goldberg could possibly headline WrestleMania 33 as the WWE Universal Champion

After a dozen years being away from the WWE, Goldberg made his highly anticipated return to the company in October 2016 and was immediately received as a Superstar by the fans.

In the months since, he has beaten Brock Lesnar in under two minutes, competed in the Royal Rumble, and will contend for the WWE Universal Championship at the upcoming Fastlane pay-per-view.

Thus, it would only make sense to invite Goldberg on the Stone Cold Podcast to further explain what led to his comeback to the company. He has said in the past that he considers Stone Cold Steve Austin to be one of his few true friends in the business, so we already know that their chemistry on a podcast would be excellent.

In fact, Austin sat down with Goldberg for a two-part podcast in the spring of 2016, but of course, that was long before any of the aforementioned events came to be, not to mention that they talked about cars for the better part of the podcast.

Thus, hearing what Goldberg has to say about this latest chapter of his life, his initial WWE run, and what the future holds for him, would be nothing short of captivating.

#3 Kevin Owens

It took 15 years for Kevin Owens to sign with WWE

Kevin Owens has done his fair share of professional podcasts over the years, most notably with Stone Cold Steve Austin and Chris Jericho. While his backstory may be well-established, it's always interesting to hear about, and he hasn't chatted with Austin since well before he signed with WWE in 2014.

As the current WWE Universal champion, Owens has been the focal point of Raw for many months and deserves the spotlight heading into WrestleMania season. What better way to get him in the headlines than by featuring him on the Stone Cold Podcast?

It would be great to hear Owens' take on how much the business has changed in WWE’s handling of its’ stars, considering someone of his size may not have been world champion five/ten years ago.

A little lesson in zoology from the animal lover would be appreciated as well.

#2 Randy Orton

Randy Orton and Stone Cold Steve Austin have seldom crossed paths in WWE

For as long as he has been in the business, Randy Orton has interestingly not done many interviews. Then again, that shouldn't come as much of a surprise considering how private of a person he is.

Once known for lashing out at disrespectful fans, Orton has obviously mellowed out in recent years, and has offered some amazing insight whenever he has done interviews with the likes of Renee Young and Sam Roberts.

His rise to super stardom in WWE is fairly well documented, but what are his thoughts on how he has reinvented himself as a member of The Wyatt Family?

Similar to the aforementioned athletes, Orton is in the midst of a major push right now, coming off his huge Royal Rumble victory.

Ahead of his likely WWE Championship match at WrestleMania 33, Orton sitting down with The Texas Rattlesnake (who he has been compared to on occasion by fans) on the Stone Cold Podcast would be must-see TV.

#1 The Undertaker

When should we expect The Undertaker to resurface next?

In early 2015, WWE themselves reported that the likes of Hulk Hogan, Undertaker and Sting were set to appear on the Stone Cold Podcast at some point in the near future.

Unfortunately, none of those interviews came to fruition for unexplained reasons. Although Hogan was supposed to appear on the August instalment of Stone Cold’s podcast, he ended up being ousted from the company a few weeks prior.

Sting was later interviewed by JBL on his own show, Legends with JBL, leaving just Undertaker as the one anticipated guest who has yet to do an interview of any kind on the WWE Network.

That isn't entirely shocking given that The Undertaker is always in character both inside and outside the ring, and he hasn't done a tell-all interview in close to a decade and a half.

However, as he approaches the end of his storied career, having him shoot the breeze with a former in-ring friend and foe in Stone Cold Steve Austin would be sensational. It would be perfect if scheduled right before WrestleMania 33, where there is a decent chance that Taker wrestles his last match.

Come on WWE, make it happen!
