6 WWE Superstars who have the highest risk of losing their push

Is his spot secure?
Is his spot secure?

In WWE, many Superstars can rarely get a guaranteed push regardless of how things are going. More often than not, we've seen Superstars gain their momentum, only for it to be killed off instantaneously by bad booking and terrible storylines.

The reality is that even for many champions and top stars, a consistent and steady push isn't always guaranteed. Given that there's a roster full of hungry talent always on the rise, every major spot will be at risk.

There is a current crop of Superstars who are getting pushed pretty heavily right now, and unfortunately, it's not the kind of push that is guaranteed for the long run. We do, of course, hope that they do get a sustained and continual push, but they are undoubtedly most at risk of losing this push.

Here are five Superstars (one of which is a tag team) who have the biggest risk of losing their push.

#6 Rey Mysterio

A filler feud?
A filler feud?

Rey Mysterio hasn't gotten the biggest push this year. Sure, he had a brief United States Championship run, but that ended as soon as it began. He's been in and out of a few feuds, mostly being on the losing end of things.

That's perfectly alright because his role at this point seems to be to put over younger talent anyway. However, since October, he got pushed as soon as he got involved with Brock Lesnar. This was, of course, to set up the Cain Velasquez-Lesnar feud but that was a flop because it ended in 2 minutes.

Sure, that did technically give it a realistic MMA-like feel, but it had more to do with the fact that Velasquez had a terrible knee injury prior (a common trend for him, it seems). Mysterio is likely a filler feud for Lesnar and will mostly lose his push once Survivor Series is done.

#5 & 4 The Kabuki Warriors

Is this the best year of Asuka's main roster career?
Is this the best year of Asuka's main roster career?

The Kabuki Warriors finally got the long-awaited push they deserved months after the formation of their team. It seemed as though WWE creative didn't have anything for Asuka as a singles star nor Kairi Sane, so they decided to pair them together.

To their credit, they have been a phenomenal team. While ditching Paige may not have been the best decision, they have been pushed and booked very strong as the champions. However, the reality is that most Superstars who held the Women's Tag Team titles haven't had much in the way of luck.

The IIconics are the only team who held it for over 100 days and even then, there was a long stretch where they didn't defend the titles at all and it was an afterthought. Thankfully, once Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross became champions, that changed and the title defenses have become a lot more frequent.

Asuka is enjoying a good spell of success, but another harsh reality is that once they drop the titles, they're very likely going to sit on the sidelines again. Hopefully, they have a long reign, but we certainly don't expect them to.

#3 Shorty G

The bizarre name contradicts the booking he's been receiving
The bizarre name contradicts the booking he's been receiving

Shorty Gable, or Shorty G as he's now called, has been gaining some momentum since the King of the Ring tournament. He was a runner-up and did get a win over Baron Corbin later on, but overall, he's been on an upward rise.

Weirdly enough, after changing his name to Shorty G, he's been pushed and protected more than he ever was as a singles star for the last two years or so. It's interesting and many fans are hopeful that he gets his just due because he is, by far, one of the most underrated in-ring performers on the roster.

Not just that, but he's got his character work cut out as well. He's a good underdog to get behind and he's got the ability to develop a character that crowds can get invested in. It depends on how he takes the opportunities given to him and hopefully, he gets a sustained push.

With that said, he's still at risk of losing that push at any moment because all it takes is for WWE to neglect his storylines and put him on the sidelines for him to go back to where he started.

#2 "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt

Will WWE stay committed this time?
Will WWE stay committed this time?

Before 2019, if you were to ask any fan which superstar WWE missed the boat with the most in recent times, you'd find that a vast majority would say, Bray Wyatt. As The Eater Of Worlds, he was a fascinating character who managed to hook fans to his persona and his eerie promo work.

It was clear that he was a level above the rest and it didn't even matter that he wasn't the most prolific in-ring worker. Everything about him screamed "Superstar", and for years, WWE always used him as a jobber to bigger stars.

It was missed opportunity after missed opportunity and that was none more so exemplified in 2017 when he had all the momentum in the world, won the WWE Championship and then lost it in less than two months to Randy Orton - a Superstar who didn't need the win by any means.

This time around, things are very different. WWE seems far more committed to The Fiend and his persona has taken a whole new level and direction. He's now the Universal Champion, but just as all has been done to restore his status, it could all go away in the blink of an eye with terrible booking.

#1 Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins
Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins was the handpicked Superstar to replace Roman Reigns as WWE's top full-time Superstar. He was the obvious pick since many felt that he should have gotten Reigns' spot anyway.

Things have changed a lot since then, but WWE had committed to building Seth Rollins in the top spot and even gave him his first World Championship in three years. While he still maintains a high level of popularity, he's edged into the "polarizing" territory thanks to how he's been booked as a babyface and certain comments that he's made outside against WWE fans.

This hasn't helped his popularity and Crown Jewel saw him lose the Universal Championship to Bray Wyatt, who effectively ended the rivalry and took the title to SmackDown where he was drafted in the first place.

Rollins is back to step 1 now and has to rebuild. He has been featured and will continue to be, but if his popularity continues to deteriorate, it wouldn't be surprising to see him lose his push as the top superstar of the company.
