6 Young WWE Superstars with the highest chance of getting a push from Vince McMahon

Who is WWE's next major star
Who is WWE's next major star

WWE is a company where the wheel keeps spinning. It's on 52 weeks in a year, delivering a consistent three shows a week (from the main brands) and as we've seen in 2020, even a pandemic couldn't stop the company from continuing its operations.

As the years go, generations emerge, new stars are born, legends slowly transition out to help the future, some major names stick on but aren't as big a presence as they used to be. One of WWE's big problems now is that they're incredibly stacked with talent - more so than at any point in history.

It's hard to utilize every star when the WWE Performance Center alone is filled with young, hungry, developmental talent who are waiting to step up and take a big spot. It's these young Superstars who WWE prioritizes - always having an eye to the future.

While many Superstars could get a major push, we selected six names who we feel have the highest chance of being pushed by Vince McMahon in the future.

#6. Mansoor

Could Mansoor be a key player for WWE in the Saudi Arabian market?
Could Mansoor be a key player for WWE in the Saudi Arabian market?

WWE has made it clear that their deal with Saudi Arabia is a top priority - signing on for two major stadium shows every year. It's a big market for WWE because it also happens to be a big-money deal for them.

While there has been a lot of controversy surrounding the events, particularly in 2018, Mansoor from NXT has benefited in the shows, having major appearances in Saudi Arabia shows.

He has a victory in a 50-man Battle Royal, he's defeated Cesaro in 2019, and Dolph Ziggler in 2020. While he has a long way to go, the 24-year old could be key for WWE's expanding global demographic.

#5. Cal Bloom

What does the future hold for the young Cal Bloom?

Cal Bloom is a 25-year old Superstar who we've only seen once on SmackDown, where he lost to Sheamus in a squash match. Despite his role as an enhancement talent, it appears that the second-generation WWE Superstar could have a big future ahead of him.

Paul Davis of Wrestlingnews.co revealed that Vince McMahon was impressed by the son of former WWE star Wayne Bloom (Beau Beverly) and he could be a big deal in the future:

I’ve heard from people in WWE who have seen Cal Bloom’s training at the Performance Center and have said that he is someone who can be a main event Superstar in the next couple of years. 'Everyone is comparing him to a young Edge,' said one WWE source. 'He is rough around the edges but he has something and Vince thinks he can be a big deal...' The coaches at the Performance Center have also had good things to say about him."

Cal Bloom may take a while longer to get kickstarted on RAW or SmackDown, but he certainly looks like he can be a big deal.

#4. Velveteen Dream

Is Velveteen Dream going to be a hit or miss?
Is Velveteen Dream going to be a hit or miss?

We'll admit that this is a situation that could go either way. We've learned by now that success in NXT doesn't always translate to success on the main roster. Velveteen Dream is the longest-reigning NXT North American Champion so far and has been a consistent presence in the brand's main event scene.

One of the things that the 24-year old Velveteen Dream has going for him is the fact that he's a homegrown talent for WWE. He's been one of the biggest success stories from Tough Enough and he didn't even win the competition.

He's been treated as a big deal in NXT and has caught the attention of Superstars like John Cena and Edge, both of whom stated their desire to face him. While there's a risk of Vince McMahon not "getting" his character and dubbing him as an enhancement talent early on, the fact that he's a more character-based wrestler (with incredible in-ring talent) could see him on the receiving end of a big push in the future.

#3. Simone Johnson

To say that Simone Johnson has big shoes to fill would be an understatement
To say that Simone Johnson has big shoes to fill would be an understatement

Simone Alexandra Johnson, at just 18 years old, became the youngest signing in WWE history earlier this year. The daughter of The Rock, it's not just her father whose legacy she'll be carrying on. Her great grandfather was the late, great Peter "High Chief" Maivia, while her grandfather is WWE Hall of Famer Rocky Johnson.

Simone Johnson is set to become the first fourth-generation Superstar in WWE history and will not only have the microscope of the public constantly on her, but she has the added pressure of following her father's footsteps and representing the celebrated Anoa'i family.

WWE Performance Center head coaches stated that Johnson has been treated no differently than any other recruit and has constantly shown hunger and a desire to learn. While we expect her to be protected and trained well before any television experience, it's not far-fetched to assume that she's going to get a big push a few years from now.

Hopefully, she can follow Charlotte Flair's footsteps and successfully step away from her father's shadow and create her own legacy.

#2. Austin Theory

Austin Theory has a bright future in WWE

The 22-year old Austin Theory is in a big spot that he was never intended to be in. While he was likely expected to stick around in NXT for longer, Andrade's absence for WrestleMania 36 meant that WWE needed to call someone up for that spot.

Austin Theory happened to be that Superstar and while he wasn't successful at WrestleMania, he started getting featured weekly on television. After getting ejected from Zelina Vega's group, Theory has joined Seth Rollins' faction in a spot that will likely benefit him more.

Sportskeeda's own Tom Colohue told Korey Gunz on Dropkick DiSKussions that there are many big names backstage pushing for Austin Theory's success:

They are desperate to see him succeed otherwise he wouldn't have even come up from NXT in the first place. It's not just Zelina Vega singing his praises, you've got Triple H and you've got Paul Heyman expecting great things. When you pair him with Seth Rollins, I think I do as well.

Austin Theory has a bright future in WWE and could end up becoming a main-eventer at a much younger age.

#1. Rhea Ripley

Rhea Ripley could be a major name in the women's division for years to come
Rhea Ripley could be a major name in the women's division for years to come

It's incredible to see how far Rhea Ripley has come in WWE, especially if you've seen in her in the early Mae Young Classic days. The 25-year old Australian Superstar has risen to the top in NXT, dethroning Shayna Baszler's lengthy second reign as NXT Women's Champion.

While her Championship reign didn't last long, it's still significant because she became the first Champion in NXT history to defend the brand's title at WrestleMania - where she was defeated by a former NXT Women's Champion Charlotte Flair.

That hasn't kept her from the hunt and there's going to be a day where she changes brands to either RAW or SmackDown. While we can see her being a better fit for RAW, she's going to be an important part of the women's division for years to come.

We can't be sure when Becky Lynch will return, how long Asuka will stick around, how much longer Charlotte Flair will dominate, but simple logic would state that Ripley has a much longer career ahead of her, barring any major injuries. She has a high chance of being pushed by Vince McMahon in the future.
