#1 CM Punk went on a great undefeated run with his WWE Championship

A pipe bomb promo helped CM Punk become arguably the most controversial Superstar in all of WWE. Known for his work in the ring and on the mic, Punk enjoyed one of the best careers in WWE history.

One of the Second City Saint's greatest accomplishments was his 434-reign as the WWE Champion.

Punk defeated Alberto Del Rio to win the title at Survivor Series 2011 and went on an incredible undefeated streak during Championship matches. Punk lost his first non-title match by pinfall over a month later to Dolph Ziggler. However, that was a gauntlet match. He later lost another match to Ziggler by count-out in January 2012.

It wasn’t until May 2012 that Punk lost his first singles match by pinfall to Daniel Bryan. At WWE Royal Rumble 2013, Punk finally lost his WWE Championship to The Rock, ending an incredible title reign that saw him successfully defend his Championship dozens of times.

Despite Punk’s reign having several disqualifications and no-contests, it remained incredible to watch him survive it all and avoid getting pinned during a title match for more than a year.
