Ethan Carter III was the guy in Impact Wrestling. He oozed charisma, was an incredibly talented top heel and proved that he was actually much better than WWE allowed him to be during his first run in the company.

When he returned to the WWE on NXT as EC3, it looked like he was going to get a similar route back to the main roster as Drew McIntyre. Sure, he did the first bit, which was take part in some great matches in NXT, but then when he hit the main roster he simply disappeared.

In fact, I would describe EC3's main roster run as the biggest non-event of WWE's 2019 and something that I certainly would not have predicted for him before it happened. It certainly seems like he might be a lost cause, but a 'New Year, new start' could give EC3 a new lease of live in WWE.

My personal hope is that they pair him with real-life friend Drake Maverick as the two have undeniable chemistry and comedic timing. I think they'd be a great addition to the tag-team division.
