Trish Stratus and Backlund to be inducted into WWE Hall of Fame

The WWE has decided to induct Bob Backlund in the WWE Hall of Fame this year. Backlund will be joining Mick Foley in this year’s class in the Hall of Fame.

Backlund made his debut as a professional wrestler in 1973 and holds the record for the second longest reign as WWE Champion in history, ahead of Hulk Hogan‘s first reign and behind Bruno Sammartino. Backlund had a successful career which spanned for 30 years.

His special moves included the innovated version of the Crossface chickenwing, Atomic Knee Drop, Half nelson bridging cradle. He also had a variety of suplex moves, like belly to belly, vertical and double underhook.

Also added to the Hall of Fame will be WWE Diva Trish Stratus, who was a seven times Women’s Champion.
