Backstage update on Nikki Bella's segment, heat on AJ Lee, more

Nikki Bella took a dig at AJ’s title reign

As noted, WWE taped a segment for the SmackDown with The Bella Twins, Paige and Aj Lee at Los Angeles, after Monday night RAW went off-air. This segment was described as one of the better Divas promos in recent times. Many WWE fans were talking about a line from Nikki Bella where she mentions AJ Lee’s title reign. Nikki said that, ‘Brock Lesnar defended the WWE World Heavyweight Championship more dates than AJ did, when she was the Divas Champion.’

If this line makes it to the broadcast of SmackDown this Thursday, then it was a scripted line from the WWE team. If it doesn’t, then it is obvious that Nikki went off-script which she had already done in the past.

Dave Meltzer of ‘The Wrestling Observer Newsletter’ adds that there was some heat regarding AJ’s absence from the company for a long time and mentioned it will be interesting to see if this line broadcasts in the show.
