Over the past few years, NXT has evolved into a major unit of WWE with budding talent using it as a launch pad for further success in the business and veteran wrestlers using NXT to transition into the mainstream business of WWE. Photos of Triple H, widely recognized as the brains behind NXT along with NXT imports-turned champions on the main rosters being prevalent over the past few years, it is fair to say that WWE depends on the NXT.

A number of superstars and tag-teams have competed in the developmental rosters with the likes of Samoa Joe and Bayley gathering a huge following due to their efforts there. Even superstars like Cesaro, Rusev, colour commentator Corey Graves and former Smackdown Live GM Paige were all part of NXT during their careers. We take a look at the best NXT imports taking into account their success in terms of championships and fan following.


#5 Becky Lynch

The Man" has taken WWE by storm since turning heel and hasn't looked back since. She is arguably the hottest talent on both RAW and Smackdown Live but she was a prodigy in NXT when she was considered to be one of the four women dubbed as "Four Horsewomen", who were acknowledged with bringing about a change in women's wrestling with quality matches.

Becky Lynch was Smackdown Live's first female pick in the 2016 draft and subsequently was the first ever Smackdown Women's Champion as well. Since then, Becky has been ever present in the Smackdown Live roster along with Carmella and Naomi.

While she has endured her fair share of ups and downs during the last couple of years, 2018 saw her winning her second Smackdown Women's Championship and revel in the spotlight with career-defining matches against the likes of Charlotte Flair and Asuka along with a supposed feud with Ronda Rousey that could see her take on "The Baddest Woman on the Planet" at Wrestlemania 35.

Alexa Bliss was an unknown commodity when she was first drafted in from NXT in the 2016 draft but she has grown into her character and established her self as one of the top female superstars in the world.

Easily the best female on the microphone, Alexa Bliss walks her talk with the Goddess being the first to win both the RAW and Smackdown Live Women's championship. Her feuds with Nia Jax, Bayley and Becky Lynch have elevated her to a very high position amongst the WWE fans.

Adding to her five championship reigns, she is also won the first-ever women's Elimination Chamber match to retain her title and also went to on win the Women's Money in the Bank ladder match, which she used later on in the night to again reign supreme.

Starting off in NXT with her real-life beau, Cruiserweight Champion Buddy Murphy and Blake, Bliss has come a long way in WWE and looks poised to write her name into the history books as one of the most successful NXT imports ever.


#3 Finn Balor

Finn Balor was a sensation in NXT! He held the coveted championship for a record 292 days indicating his everlasting popularity amongst the WWE faithful. This was however utilized by the WWE when he was Stephanie McMahon and Mick Foley's third pick in the 2016 draft.

He was swiftly written into a feud with Seth Rollins with the mantle of the first-ever Universal Champion up for grabs. The Demon King showed up at SummerSlam 2016 which resulted in Balor being crowned the Universal Champion. But due to an injury, he incurred during the course of the match, he had to relinquish the championship only to return after nearly seven months.

Since then, Balor hasn't experienced success in championship bouts but is still loved and adored by the WWE fans. His epic match against AJ Styles was a dream bout for many and it did stand up to the hype to an extent. Apart from the aforementioned, Balor was part of two successful Survivor Series teams in 2017 and 2018 and also had a brilliant match with Seth Rollins and the Miz at Wrestlemania 34 for the Intercontinental Championship.

With a supposed change in mentality and direction of the WWE management and creative, 2019 might just see Finn Balor rekindle his past glories of NXT and his early days in WWE to regain the championship that he never lost.

The third woman on this list simply exemplifies the extent of their impact on changing the women's division and Charlotte Flair is at the forefront of it. The daughter of WWE Hall of Famer, Ric Flair, Charlotte had to burden of her last name to carry but she did it emphatically.

She is a seven-time women's champions in the WWE and the only superstar to hold the NXT Championship, Divas Championship, RAW and Smackdown Women's Championship. She has had several marquee matches with the likes of Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch to name a few.

Charlotte has been part of the first ever Hell in a Cell match, TLC match, falls count anywhere match and the Last woman standing match enlisting her the most talented female in the WWE. She was also the first woman to beat Asuka in the WWE when she did so at Wrestlemania 34.

A future Hall of Famer, Charlotte Flair has taken her surname in her strides and has performed emphatically to revolutionize the perception of Women's wrestling in WWE and WWE fans hope she will continue to produce the same level of matches in the foreseeable future.

The trio comprising of Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose is easily the amongst the most successful stables in WWE history. Ever since they broke out at the Survivor Series PPV in 2012, the Shield have been a force to reckon with. All of them have won world championships and are in an elite group of being grand slam champions in the WWE as well.

Between them, they have competed in matches of all kinds against the likes of Kane, Triple H, Batista, Braun Strowman and Randy Orton to name a few. All of them are certified individual competitors as well with Dean Ambrose currently holding the Intercontinental championship. Ratings have soared whenever there is a Shield reunion indicating their popularity.

While NXT superstars are being imported regularly every year, none have been able to make the kind of impact the Shield has made and this is why they are NXT's best imports till date.
