Drew McIntyre caught up with Sportskeeda Wrestling leading up to WrestleMania and expressed his desire to work Edge. In fact, he told us that he's been waiting for a long time for the match to happen.

Here's what McIntyre told Sportskeeda:

"I can't wait for it to happen. I've been waiting a very long time. I've to say I'm a little disappointed he didn't choose Drew McIntyre and the WWE Championship as the match. It was pointed out recently that it was his first match on SmackDown in about 10 years. His last match was with a young Drew McIntyre."

Obviously, if Edge does capture the Universal Championship, then these plans go for a toss. However, one must remember that Edge is not a member of the SmackDown roster. He's only competing on SmackDown right now because he picked Roman Reigns after winning the Royal Rumble match.
