Dwayne Johnson, aka, The Rock is an 8-time WWE World Champion. He comes from a prestigious bloodline of the Samoan Wrestlers. While he is advertised on WWE television to be the cousin of Roman Reigns and The Usos, they are not technically related. His legitimate cousin who is currently in the WWE, however, is Nia Jax.

The Dwayne Johnson family is a big one, regardless and introduced its newest member late last year, Jasmine Johnson.

Dwayne Johnson’s family is an extremely interesting one. Hollywood’s highest paid actor (according to Forbes) may very likely be among the busiest men alive, but that does not stop his commitment and time spent towards his family.

The Rock grew up struggling, with his mother Ata Maivia-Johnson, living in near-poverty while he was still paying his dues and trying to make it. His WWF run made him who he is today, and his transition to Hollywood, even if it was an uphill battle, was something The Rock could handle, , and he worked hard to get where he is today.

Let’s take a look at the family of The Great One, Hollywood’s #1 star

Rocky Johnson, Dwayne Johnson’s father, is a WWE Hall Of Famer, and multiple-time World champion in the territories. With WWE, he is a former Tag Team Champion along with Tony Atlas.

He was inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame in 2008 by his son The Rock. Rocky Johnson married into the Samoan wrestling family, marrying Ata-Maivia, daughter of the legendary “High Chief” Peter Maivia,

The “High Chief” did not approve of his relationship with his daughter because he knew how difficult life was for families of wrestlers who are on the road constantly. Rocky Johnson is credited for being one of the pioneers of paving the way for African-American wrestlers not just in WWE, but in the world.

Rocky Johnson, along with Pat Patterson, trained The Brahma Bull and helped to get him a WWF developmental contract. The Rock debuted as “Rocky Maivia” taking inspiration from his father and grandfather. The rest, as they say, is history.

The Samoan wrestling family begins with two people – Amituana Anoa’i and “High Chief” Peter Maivia. The two mentioned names were “blood brothers”, thus Maivia’s side of the family is considered an extension of the family.

Peter Maivia (real name Fanene Leifi Pita Maivia) is a WWE Hall Of Famer, who was inducted along with his son-in-law, Rocky Johnson. He is the father of Ata Maivia, The Rock’s mother.

He was also known as “The Flying Hawaiian” and was most notable for his run in the NWA territories, being Tag Team Champion once with Ray Stevens. He was diagnosed with cancer in 1981 and passed away on June 1982. Maivia had tribal tattoos that indicated his “high chief” status in his abdomen and legs.

It is not too far off from that tattoos seen on The Rock, The Usos, and Roman Reigns.

Ata Fitisemanu Maivia was born on October 25, 1948, in Hawaii, as Feagaimaleata Fitisemanu Maivia. She is the daughter of "High Chief" Peter Maivia. She married Rocky Johnson (much against her father's wishes, as mentioned). Ata met Rocky Johnson after her father and Johnson, were tag team partners in a match on the independent scene.

She was involved in a car crash with The Rock's cousin and WWE superstar Nia J when the two were struck by a drunk driver back in 2014. Luckily, they both pulled through and recovered just fine.

My mom & cousin @linafanene were struck head on by a drunk driver this week - they lived. First reaction is to find the person who did this and do unrelenting harm to them. But then you realize the most important thing is my family lived thru this and we can hug each other that much tighter these days. Hug your own family tighter today and be grateful you can tell them you love them. #BearHugsAndGratitude #100PercentPreventable #ChoicesMatter

William Morris Endeavor (WME) has a 15-team talent agency dedicated to just The Rock, and leading the charge is his producing partner and ex-wife Dany Garcia.

Garcia said that the key to their working relationship is mutual respect. Garcia and The Rock got married on May 3rd, 1997, and together they have a daughter, Simone Alexandra Johnson who was born in 2001. After ten years of their marriage, in 2007 they decided to call it quits.

As mentioned, the couple continues to be on extremely good terms, and Garcia is credited as one of the reasons The Rock has had such an extremely successful crossover into Hollywood from pro-wrestling.

Lauren Hashian has had a far more private relationship with The Rock and has generally been under the radar, more often than not. She is the daughter of "Boston" drummer, Sib Hashian.

She met The Rock on the set of The Game Plan, but the two did not start dating until a year later when The Rock got divorced. Hashian generally seems to enjoy staying outside the spotlight, but constantly shows support for her family on Instagram. The couple is not married as of yet, but have a daughter together, Jasmine Johnson, born in December 2015.

Being of Samoan and German heritage, Nia Jax is a WWE Superstar on Monday Night Raw, whose journey we are seeing unfold before our very eyes. The 5’11, 272 lb superstar “is not like most girls” like her theme song says.

Her unique look and ability to dominate, got her a quick call-up to the main roster in less than a year within her NXT debut, something that has only happened to the likes of Kevin Owens and Apollo Crews. Her journey is only beginning.

She is very close to The Rock, and he once even endorsed her heavily on Instagram!

Pleasure having my cousin and future @WWE Diva @niajaxwwe come thru the #IronParadise. As her mentor we talked for hours about her goals and the hard work it's gonna take to achieve them. I asked Nia (real name Lina Fanene) what her #1 goal is and she simply said, "greatness". Y'all know I had a big ass smile on my face when I heard that! . I told her don't worry about championship titles and don't be concerned about becoming famous, just always remember that the most powerful thing you can be IN AND OUT of the wrestling ring, is yourself... All 5'11 272lbs of beautiful, Samoan, German, authentic, savage, humble, hungry dominant woman. Be real, be you and greatness will come. Y'all KNOW she then cracked a big ass smile too. . You guys keep an eye out for my cousin.. one day she'll do big things and she'll do it with class and humility and more importantly, she'll do it just being herself. #Family #ShesDominant #272lbsOfYouAintReadyForThisKindOfPain #PeoplesEyebrowOnPoint #ShesMyNewBodyguard
