Fantasy Booking: What if Kofi Kingston does not win the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 35

What if Kofi Kingston cannot capture the gold at the Show of Shows?
What if Kofi Kingston cannot capture the gold at the Show of Shows?

Kofi Kingston was an overlooked singles performer until the WWE Creative team chose him to take the injured Mustafa Ali's place in the 6-man Elimination Chamber match last February. To give Kofi Kingston momentum, the writers did a stupendous job and put him in a gauntlet match featuring all the competitors of the Chamber match.

When Daniel Bryan came out first to fight with Kofi, it seemed like Kingston would take the champion to the limits but will take the pin ultimately. However, Kofi not only took Bryan to his limits but also pinned him to progress in the match. He then eliminated Jeff Hardy and Samoa Joe to cement his place as a babyface in the hearts of the WWE Universe.

The WWE Universe was madly behind Kofi Kingston at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view. Though Kofi could not win the WWE Championship, his performance earned him a title match at WWE Fastlane.

Vince McMahon, being the heel he is, screwed Kofi and the WWE Universe by replacing him with a returning Kevin Owens in the match. Since that night, there have been multiple occasions where Vince has screwed Kofi Kingston on SmackDown Live.

This Tuesday he will face the top 5 heels of SmackDown in a gauntlet match just to 'go to' WrestleMania.

A lot of fans believe that the Creative team is building up Kofi Kingston as an underdog and, he will win the WWE Championship at the Grandest Stage of Them All. This looks like a straightforward storyline which has the highest chances of coming to fruition but in this article, we will have a look at the things that may transpire if Kofi Kingston does not win the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 35.

#CancelWWENetwork trends on social media

The WWE Network will receive a ton of backlash from the WWE Universe
The WWE Network will receive a ton of backlash from the WWE Universe

There are two ways through which the WWE Universe can express their displeasure towards the company's booking decisions. First, the fans in attendance hijack the event with deafening boos and second, the fans at home get the #CancelWWENetwork trending on social media.

Even the ones who have never subscribed WWE Network in their life start sharing the #CancelWWENetwork to follow the trend. And boy, if Kofi does not win the title after making it to the championship match, mark my words, the aforementioned two things will happen on April 7th, 2019.

Daniel Bryan vs The Miz battle for the WWE Championship

Life changes so fast!
Life changes so fast!

Six months ago, The A-Lister, the Miz, was portraying a heel character on WWE TV, whereas Daniel Bryan had not discovered his new version and was the same Yes! guy. However, here we are almost 200 days after their last match at WWE Super Show Down, the Miz is a babyface while Daniel Bryan is the top heel of the B show.

If Kofi Kingston does not win the championship at WrestleMania 35, that would mean Daniel Bryan would continue his reign as the Planet's Champion. The Miz is scheduled to face Shane McMahon at the event and he is vastly expected to avenge the beating that he received in front of his home crowd by defeating the Prodigal Son at the Show of Shows.

And, next night he would earn himself a WWE Championship match against old foe, Daniel Bryan. The two can then feud over the title for 2 or 3 months.

Kofi Kingston wins the Greatest Royal Rumble match

And this time, Kofi Kingston will not use his magical tricks

After WrestleMania 35, WWE will travel to the kingdom of Saudi Arabia to conduct an international pay-per-view. While WWE has not announced the show's name or its matches, I expect them to organize the Greatest Royal Rumble match this year as well. To respond to the backlash they received from the fans after WrestleMania, the Creative team will build Kofi Kingston's rise to the top strategically.

They will have Kingston enter the 50-man match early and then outlast the 49 other men to win the match. Daniel Bryan on the other hand, will be joined by Bray Wyatt as there will be a formation of a new heel faction on SmackDown Live.

The Miz will not be able to win the WWE Championship at the international pay-per-view due to Wyatt's interference, but he will get himself a rematch at the Money in the Bank pay-per-view with the promise that if he loses, he would never be able to compete for the title in the future.

The Miz reunites the Miztourage to win but cannot overcome Bryan at the MITB pay-per-view, Kofi Kingston fails to win the MITB contract

The Bryan Family!

The Miz calls back former Miztourage members, Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel (who have become quite popular as the B Team) to form his own faction and counter Bryan and co. The faces get the upper-hand in the tag team matches held between the Saudi Arabia show and the Money in the Bank pay-per-view, slated to air on May 19th.

In the rematch at the Money in the Bank pay-per-view, The Miz and the Miztourage try their best to end the reign of Daniel Bryan but Bray Wyatt and Rowan find a new back-up in Luke Harper, who completely shocks everyone by joining the heel trio.

After a lot of chaos, the newly formed Bryan Family helps Daniel Bryan retain his WWE Championship against the Miz. On the other side, the winner of the Greatest Royal Rumble match, Kofi Kingston fails to win the Money in the Bank contract but once again impresses with his in-ring technical skills.

The New Day battle the Bryan Family in a 3-on-4 Extreme Rules handicap match, if the New Day wins Kofi earns a title shot at SummerSlam

A fantastic 7-man match will headline WWE Extreme Rules pay-per-view

The Money in the Bank match will be won a RAW superstar. The Miz could not win the title at the pay-per-view, which resulted in him being unable to contest for the championship in the future. This would leave Daniel Bryan without any challenger on SmackDown Live.

Crowd favorite Kofi Kingston had won the hearts of the WWE Universe with his performance once again in the Money in the Bank match. Thus, he will go backstage and ask the Authority for a title match. The heel Shane McMahon would give him an opportunity to fight for the gold at SummerSlam but only if he and his New Day comrades defeat the Bryan Family in an Extreme Rules match on July 14 at the Wells Fargo Center.

The members of the two factions will collide in singles matches to build up the match and come July 14, the Power of Positivity will overcome the Bryan Family in an excruciating match. Kofi Kingston finally earns a singles match for the title, and now it's time for the biggest party of the Summer.

Kofi Kingston conquers Daniel Bryan, scripts the grandest WWE Championship triumph in SummerSlam history

Kofi! Kofi! Kofi!
Kofi! Kofi! Kofi!

Kofi Kingston and Daniel Bryan will lock horns in the most awaited match of the night at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto. The match will have a hot start with babyface Kofi outperforming the champion. But, the heel will bounce back with some help from his heel goons. The New Day members would try to interfere as well and with so many superstars on the ringside, the referee decides to send them all backstage.

Kingston and Bryan are alone in the ring now as they have a vicious exchange of blows. Bryan would try his best to keep Kofi down but this is the new, rejuvenated Kofi Kingston who knows no limits.

Seeing no possible way to defeat Kingston, Bryan tries to disqualify himself by walking towards the ramp, but Kofi does not allow him and launches a counter attack to get Bryan down. The New Day member then unleashes his new finishing move 'Kofi's Rise' (execute a Trouble of Paradise from the top rope) and pins the champ to win the title.

All the members of the WWE Universe lose their mind as once again they become a fan of this man's thinking...
