Fastlane 2019: 5 reasons why Kofi Kingston lost against The Bar

At Fastlane, The New Day asked McMahon to include Kofi Kingston to the WWE Championship match and make it a triple threat bout. The Chairman agreed to give them this match but, as we all know, he likes to trick the fans.

When Kingston made his way to the ring, WWE announced that it is not for the WWE Championship but for a handicap match against The Bar. Some fans expected Kingston to win the match but it didn’t happen. He then takes a brutal beating at the hands of Sheamus and Cesaro and when Big E and Xavier Woods come to save him, they get attacked by Shinsuke Nakamura and Rusev.

With a double white noise on Kingston, The Bar get the victory in an inappropriate way. But why did Vince decided to let Kingston lose in this match, considering his recent rise? In this article, we will look at such 5 reasons. As always, don’t forget to write down your thoughts in the comment section below.

#5 The Bar is going feud with The Usos

At Fastlane, Shane McMahon turned heel against his tag team partner, The Miz. It was a heel turn that was expected to happen for a long time and it finally happened at this pay-per-view. However, don’t forget that The Usos also retained their Smackdown Tag Team Championship and now they need new opponents.

The New day seemingly is going to feud with Rusev and Shinsuke Nakamura as they also interfered during The Bar vs Kofi Kingston. So this means that there is no credible team left for the tag team champions than Sheamus and Cesaro.

The Usos were heels during their feud with Miz and Shane but now, I think, they are going to be face against The Bar. And to generate heat for Cesaro and Sheamus, the WWE may have taken the decision to give them the victory.

#4 To test the WWE Universe

While it’s true that the fans want Kofi Kingston to win the WWE Championship, the company can't do things in a hurry. They may want to take other things into consideration as well and act upon it. Any step taken in a hurry could hurt them.

What point I’m trying to make right now?

Well, as we all know, the WWE Universe is completely behind Kingston at the moment but it doesn't mean that it will last longer. Let’s say that the WWE makes him the new World Champion but what if Kingston lose all of his momenta after some time? Not only will it hurt him but it will also damage the title.

I know that a loss could destroy Kingston’s momentum but, not if the fans are truly behind him. Becky Lynch, too, has taken some losses after in recent times but it didn't hurt her a lot because the fans were behind her. Maybe the WWE is testing the fans to see whether or not they will lose their interest on Kingston anytime soon by giving him some losses. Considering WWE’s plans for Kingston right now, it could be the reason for his loss at Fastlane.

#3 To make Vince McMahon the most hated person in WWE

Why was the last minute swerve pulled by Vince McMahon?

From a fan’s perspective, Vince is the reason why Kofi Kingston lost against The Bar at Fastlane. First of all, it was a 2-on-1 Handicap Match where obviously the opposite team had the advantage. Secondly, it is The Chairman who actually make decisions in WWE.

So obviously he had decided Kingston’s loss at Fastlane which give us a reason to hate him more. And considering Kingston’s popularity right now, it’s true that McMahon is getting criticized for his recent bizarre decisions. Maybe the WWE wants The Boss to get hated by the fans and it is why he is taking strange decisions against the popular Superstars, right now.

When he replaced Kingston with Kevin Owens at SmackDown, fans criticized him and now, not only did he tricked us by booking a 2-on-1 Handicap match but also made Kingston lose the match. I think it is enough to make him the biggest heel in WWE.

#2 Mustafa Ali was going to face Daniel Bryan and Kevin Owens for the title

The New Day demanded a triple threat match for the WWE Title from Vince Mcmahon. Technically, the Chairman provided them the match but with a twist.

Instead of Kofi Kingston, WWE added Mustafa Ali to the match. Now, if Kingston would have won his match against The Bar then there was no chance that Ali could have gotten a shot at the title.

Mind you, Ali was the original Superstar who was going to fight at Elimination Chamber and Kingston replaced him. This means that Ali would have done all the things Kingston did in recent times. It also means that Ali would have become the most popular Superstar on SmackDown and WWE Universe could be cheering for him. However, it isn't the case right now as the fans were screaming ‘We want Kofi!’ during the WWE Championship match at Fastlane.

#1 Kofi Kingston is going to win the WWE Title at WrestleMania

If Kofi wouldn't have lost against The Bar at Fastlane, he would be fighting against Kevin Owens and Daniel Bryan for the WWE Championship. However, as I previously said, Fastlane is not the place where Kingston should win the title.

He is working for the WWE for 11 years and still hasn't got his WrestleMania moment. The WWE understands this and maybe it is why Kingston didn't shot at the title but instead, lost against The Bar.

Considering WWE’s plans for Kingston once again, I believe that he needs to have a great comeback story. Kingston already lost many things in a short period of time. First, he lost a match then a title shot and now he again lost a match.

However, from WWE’s perspective, it was all needed to book Kingston vs Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania. Kingston could now argue with The Boss for not providing him the title match he deserves. It could also start a feud between him and the McMahons which will only do good to the veteran Superstar. At one point Daniel Bryan was against the McMahon but could he join them in this rivalry considering he is now a heel?

So these were my thoughts on why Kofi Kingston could have lost his match against The Bar at Fastlane. Don't forget to write down your thoughts in the comment section below.
