With Kofimania, we mean WrestleMania, just around the corner, this will be the only singles men’s championship which will be defended at the event. In a surprising turn of events, Vince McMahon changed Bryan’s opponent from Kofi Kingston to the returning Kevin Owens just over a week back.

Kevin Owens has returned as a completely different person and as a babyface, unlike his previous outings with WWE. However, there is little to no background and story behind this feud, and it seems more like a placeholder more than anything just like the one between Mandy Rose and Asuka.

At this point in time, we expect Bryan to also retain his championship at the event and face another opponent at WrestleMania 35. A clean loss for Owens could prove to be damaging though.

Therefore, the introduction of Mustafa Ali to the picture makes more sense now, as he and Rowan could prove to have an impact on the match and their interference or distraction will have a massive impact on the match.

With the hype that has been built up around Kofi’s first ever one-on-one shot at the championship, and him pinning the WWE Champion Daniel Bryan just a few weeks back, it makes the most sense that Bryan will retain his championship and defend it against Kofi at WrestleMania.

As for Kevin Owens, he could find a new rival in Rowan or Mustafa Ali for some weeks until he gets back in the title picture. Or who knows, maybe Sami Zayn will reemerge to cost Owens the title and reintroduce their rivalry to the fans.

Prediction: Daniel Bryan retains the WWE Championship.
