From the WWE Rumor Mill: Domestic battery case launched against David Otunga
Things could get real as a misdemeanor investigation has been launched against David Otunga
Although WWE is a grand mixture of soap opera and sports entertainment, sometimes the behind-the-scenes situations can be even more scandalous the what's portrayed on television. It was recently revealed David Otunga and Jennifer Hudson had split up and Hudson filed an order of protection against Otunga.
David Otunga's attorney came out with a statement saying these allegations and reasoning for filing an order of protection were simply tactics in order to win a custody battle over the couple's child. Otunga's attorney, Tracy Rizzo stated:
"Due to Jennifer Hudson's rigorous schedule of world travel to maintain her high-profile career in the entertainment business, Tracy Rizzo stated Otunga would be granted residential care for the couple's son. Therefore, the order of protection is a "meritless Petition for Order of Protection in an effort to gain an unfair advantage in the custody dispute."
The situation between David Otunga and long-time fiance Jennifer Hudson has hit a few snags and apparently it could be worse than Otunga's representatives led on.
Apparently, police have told TMZ that a misdemeanour domestic battery investigation has been launched against David Otunga concerning this manner. But as of right now it looks like Otunga's status with WWE is okay.
However, due to their zero tolerance policy concerning any kind of domestic violence, if David Otunga were to be arrested for these charges then he would be suspended.
We will keep you up to date on this situation as more information is revealed but as of right now it might be a wait and see kind of thing. Of course, the police could come away determining there is no reason to pursue the case any further but they have to investigate in a matter like this.
Hopefully, it all comes out in the wash and both Otunga and Hudson can reconcile or split amicably. But in the meantime, we probably haven't heard the last from this story.
