From the WWE Rumor Mill: Original plans for Enzo Amore's feud with Neville

What would have ha

What would have happened if The King Of The Cruiserweights hadn't left his kingdom?

What's the story?

Enzo Amore was the Realest Champ In The Room when his Cruiserweight Title was yanked from him. Some fans were left wondering what the long-term plan for Enzo Amore is and The Dirty Sheets is providing fans with a reason why Amore dropped his Cruiserweight Championship. There could also be plans to bring someone up to protect the Smack Talker Skywalker as well.

In case you didn't know...

Enzo Amore is electric on the microphone and set ready to take on the WWE main roster alongside Big Cass as soon as they jumped up from NXT. Unfortunately, the two never picked up a pair of tag-team titles on the main roster either but they did sell a ton of merchandise so that's a pretty nice consolation.

Big Cass kicked his little buddy's head off and turned heel but suffered a devastating knee injury which still has him sitting the bench. But Enzo Amore pressed on and soon found himself with the WWE Cruiserweight Title. He's done a lot so far in his career and Amore will keep bragging about every accomplishment along the way from his royalty checks to making Neville quit.

The heart of the matter

Reports online are saying that Enzo Amore dropping his Cruiserweight Championship was a story device to cancel out the no-contact clause Amore forced Kurt Angle to sign.

The long-term plans were for Neville to come through and topple Enzo Amore to regain the Cruiserweight Championship eventually. But it wouldn't be long until Amore had a new plan.

The report says there were plans to bring in a bodyguard for Amore akin to Diesel and Shawn Michael's relationship when Big Daddy Cool was first brought into WWE. This would help Amore win back the Cruiserweight Championship and avoid any future occurrences of the 205 Live roster ganging up on him.

It was said the front-runners for the part of Enzo Amore's bodyguard were Babatunde Aiyegbushi and former Impact Wrestling star, Gunner. Aiyebushi is a hoss and currently training at the WWE Performance Center. He might be a little green in the ring, but his dominating presence would certainly be felt among the 205 Live guys.

What's next?

WWE might be forced to reshuffle their deck if Neville is gone from the company and was in their long-term plans for the Cruiserweight Division. Enzo Amore would really appreciate another run with his WWE Cruiserweight Championship though. After all, he had already made a habit of flaunting his title around wherever he went and he certainly loved the extra attention.

Author's take

Whatever WWE is planning for the future of the Cruiserweight Division needs to be built on a solid foundation. 205 Live has done better since the addition of Amore, but they're far from captivating as much of the WWE Universe's attention as they deserve.

The 205 Live guys are really underappreciated and have some of the most capable professional wrestlers in WWE. If it takes inserting a heat machine like Enzo Amore to keep them going, then so be it. But I just hope WWE can get back to letting these amazing performers wrestle.
