From the GFW Rumor Mill: Bound for Glory could take place in Canada

The d
The date is set, but where's the venue?

What's the story?

Bound For Glory is on the way but it also begs the question of where's it going to take place. A few different locations have been discussed so far and it looks like Global Force Wrestling might finally be narrowing it down. PW Insider presented some information that might clear some things up.

In case you didn't know...

Global Force Wrestling used to be called Impact Wrestling but before then it was simply known as TNA. The company might still technically be Impact Wrestling on paper but they're calling it GFW even though The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported the merger between the two companies still isn't completed.

But as GFW continues their parent company Anthem Sports might have had enough of losing money. There were reports from Sports Illustrated saying Anthem was looking to sell their wrestling company already.

GFW denied those claims but Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that denial is a typical move at this stage in the game for a company in that kind of unfortunate situation.

There haven't been any announcements of more television tapings for Impact Wrestling after November's Bound For Glory pay-per-view and a location for the event hasn't even been announced yet. Now there might be new information about where Bound For Glory 2017 will go down.

The heart of the matter

GFW was teasing having Bound For Glory in India as well as England. Fans all over the world were possibly left to wonder where they will actually land on as it seems like they might be throwing a dart at a map of the world to pick their PPV's location.

Global Force Wrestling might have decided on a location for their Bound For Glory PPV and if PW Insider's report is correct then fans in Canada will be very happy about this news.

It is being reported GFW is currently considering the Toronto Canada area as Bound For Glory's location. It is also believed the post-PPV television tapings will take place somewhere in Canada as well.

Even though it's reported GFW is leaving the Impact Zone for these events it doesn't mean they won't eventually return.

What's next?

Let's hope GFW is around long enough for them to have another honest go with this new crop of talent they have established. If they would be allowed to rebuild as a wrestling company without any outside interference who knows how prosperous they could eventually become. But they might still have a little way to go in order to really put the wheels in motion.

Author's take

Regardless of where the event takes place I just hope GFW can put on a great show. Bound For Glory needs to capture the world's attention if they're going to stand a chance in really turning things around.
