For the longest time, WWE was under the control of the McMahon family. Given how they conducted business, no one felt that the reign would ever shift from their hands. However, it did when Endeavor Group, which owned UFC, purchased the Stamford-based promotion in April 2023.

After this purchase, it was announced on September 12th, 2023, that the Endeavor Group had merged WWE & UFC to create the TKO Holdings Group. At the time, this merger created a $21 billion powerhouse, with the UFC being valued at $12.1 billion and the pro wrestling promotion being valued at $9.3 billion.

However, this valuation has changed in 2024. As per Forbes, as of today, WWE's valuation is $6.8 billion, which makes it the second most valuable combat sports promotion after the Ultimate Fighting Championship, which is valued at $11.3 billion.

Keeping aside the valuation, the wrestling promotion has been having a great 2024. Since Triple H has taken the creative lead in the company, they have experienced tremendous success. Like WrestleMania 40, fans expect the promotion to come up with many more exciting events.

What are the changes in WWE since it merged with the UFC to form TKO Holdings Group?

Whenever something or someone new is brought in, there is usually an expectation of change. For example, when Triple H was brought in to replace Vince McMahon, fans expected him to lead the Stamford-based promotion into a new era. A similar expectation was placed when WWE was merged with the UFC.

Since the two promotions merged to form the TKO Holdings Group, there have been several changes in the professional wrestling brand. For starters, for the first time in the company's history, the name of the sponsor is displayed in the center of the ring.

At WrestleMania 40, fans witnessed the same when they saw the Prime logo in the center of the mat. This move adopted by the promotion is similar to what the UFC has been doing for years. It will be interesting to see if WWE decides to add more logos to their rings, like the MMA promotion.

Apart from this change, a notable difference was witnessed in the camera strategy. While the promotion has been known to use the hard cam, in December 2023 they brought about a change when cameras were placed close to the ring and fans could see shots through the ropes.

Like these changes, the Stamford-based promotion has tweaked quite a few things to give its viewers a memorable wrestling experience. It will be interesting to see how the company continues to improve.
