What's the story?

According to Pro Wrestling Sheet, Killer Kross confirmed on the Wrestling Perspective Podcast that he has requested his release from Impact Wrestling. He reveals his reasons for doing so.

In case you didn't know...

It was rumored a few weeks ago that Killer Kross had asked for his release from Impact Wrestling.

It was reported that at the time he had signed a multi-year contract, but Kross was reportedly unhappy with the pay scale where he was at. It was also understood that he had asked for a pay raise.

He has been a very big part of Impact for the last year. His intensity and charisma has put him over as one of the better heels in Impact Wrestling.

The heart of the matter

Kross confirmed the fact that he has asked for his release from Impact Wrestling. He reveals that the main reason is that he has done so because Impact is not paying him what he's worth. He goes on to say;

If you get to a job and you are told that something you’re looking for is not available and then you come to find out six months later that that’s not true, it has been available and other people have it … you can imagine that you’d be a little disparaged.

Another one of the main reasons he has asked for a raise is because his personal situation has changed over the last year.

But it’s just different when you have people to take care of, circumstances change in life. You can’t anticipate it.

He also revealed their shocking response when he asked for a pay raise.

Being told to go get another job by your job, that’s f*cked up. You’re struggling to make ends meet taking care of people, and the job that you can barely afford to have tells you to go get another job so you can keep that job. It’s like working at a corporation being told to go work at McDonald’s. It’s a weird feeling.

What's next?

It would be a huge loss if Killer Kross does actually leave Impact Wrestling. He has been big part of the company and it would be unfortunate if they were to lose him. If he does actually get his release, would AEW benefit as a result? It will be interesting times ahead.
