Who will take te top prize off from Lashley?

Impact Wrestling featured a couple of marquee matchups on its May 4th episode, besides a title change as Sienna defeated Christina Von Eerie to become the new GFW Women’s champion.

The episode also saw the Braxton Sutter and Allie vs. Laurel Van Ness saga continue, besides a cracker of an opening match between Matt Sydal (WWE’s Evan Bourne) and Eddie Edwards.

The co-main event of the evening saw Magnus defend his GFW title against Matt Morgan- a matchup wherein Morgan appeared to be a tad affected by possible ring-rust. Furthermore, Alberto El Patron closed the show by defeating Eli Drake after what’s being touted by many fans as one of the better matches to have transpired in Impact Wrestling as of late.

Here are the complete results for Impact Wrestling’s May 4th episode:

#1 Matt Sydal vs. Eddie Edwards (w/Alisha Edwards)

WWE’s Evan Bourne aka Matt Sydal notched a second victory in as many weeks after he beat Eddie Edwards in a back-and-forth contest. Although the matchup, didn’t see as much high-flying X-Division style action as fans have grown accustomed to, it saw Sydal and Edwards engage in a few technical spots, following which Eddie and Alisha were ambushed by Davey Richards and Angelina Love.

Davey Richards attacked his former Wolves team-mate’s knee with a steel chair.

The aforementioned segment is linked to a lengthy, ongoing Impact Wrestling backstory that goes- Richards, who suffered a knee injury in the past, blames Edwards for forgetting about him while he was injured. Therefore, Davey is now working an angle by targeting his former friend’s knee and hurting him all the same.

Impact medical personnel checked on Edwards after Alisha intervened to save her husband.
