Following his stunning betrayal of Solo Sikoa at Money in the Bank this past weekend, Jacob Fatu is now treading into uncharted territory, but do not expect an apology tour on Friday Night SmackDown.

Many fans have speculated whether Fatu might attempt to mend fences with Jimmy Uso, a fellow family member on SmackDown who was also betrayed by Solo Sikoa. It wasn't just Jacob betraying Solo and not the other way around. The conflict had clearly been brewing between the two, and Fatu just turned on Solo before he could have stabbed the reigning United States Champion in the back.

Nevertheless, let’s be clear: while Fatu may have turned on Sikoa, a full-blown babyface turn or apology to Jimmy Uso seems highly unlikely. The United States Champion has taken the WWE Universe by storm with his intensity and unmatched presence ever since his debut.

His betrayal of Sikoa at MITB felt less like a babyface turn and more like a statement of independence. And that, in essence, is the crux of Jacob Fatu’s character — the Samoan Werewolf doesn’t ask for forgiveness. He doesn’t join teams. He doesn’t make friends. He does what he wants, when he wants.

Solo may have brought him to WWE, but Jacob Fatu was never meant to stay in a former bootleg Tribal Chief's shadow. Fatu was never meant to do anything other than cause unbridled chaos and insane carnage, on his terms.

The past few months indicated a major shift in his mindset, with last weekend's SmackDown tipping him over the edge, and Fatu consequently costing Solo the ladder match the following night at Money in the Bank. This was more of a personal awakening than a signal that he’s about to start making amends.

An apology to Jimmy Uso would not only feel forced but completely out of character for Jacob Fatu. Their issues were never deeply personal anyway, simply a byproduct of being on opposite sides of the Bloodline war.

If anything, a segment between the two would only make sense to tease a reluctant alliance. However, Jacob Fatu has been built as a lone wolf from the start. Now, more than ever, he stands on his own.

Jacob Fatu has become one of the biggest stars on SmackDown over the past year

When Jacob Fatu debuted on SmackDown last year, he did so in brutal fashion — aligning with Solo Sikoa and destroying then Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, and Kevin Owens. Since then, fans have watched as the lines within the Bloodline Saga blurred, twisted, and broke apart entirely.

In storyline, there's reason to believe Jimmy and Fatu could find common ground now. After all, both have been wronged by Solo, and both are now, in their own way, charting paths forward alone on SmackDown, without Solo. But common ground does not equal camaraderie, especially when one of the men involved is Jacob Fatu.

The Samoan Werewolf’s rise in popularity has come from fans gravitating to his raw, unfiltered aggression and energy — not from him following babyface tropes. As Jim Cornette predicted long ago, once WWE unleashed Fatu, he would become an instant fan favorite on his own terms. And that’s exactly what’s happening. He has had a stellar first year in the company and remains one of the greatest success stories in recent WWE history.
