John Cena and Roman Reigns went up against each other in one of the most anticipated matches of the year. The match began with the two wrestlers feeling each other out in terms of offence before Cena taunted the crowd and headed back up the entrance ramp. Reigns attacked Cena from the back and brought the action back to the ring.
Roman was in control as to took Cena into the corner and landed a good few kicks on him before Cena went outside. Roman Reigns followed him outside but was sent crashing into the steel steps but the Samoan responded by sending "The Champ" through the other set of steps. The match returned to the ring as Cena took control but his offence was soon countered by Reigns.
The match was lacklustre so far into it ad the crowd seemed to respond to it. The two exchange moves before Cena took Reigns to the mat with a big slam and went for the Five Knuckle Shuffle but was caught into a Samoan Drop from Reigns.
Cena managed to deliver a Five Knuckle Shuffle on his opponent but Reigns reversed the following Attitude Adjustment with ease. Reigns went for the Superman Punch but was caught in the STF. Reigns reversed the submission into a sit-up powerbomb.
Cena landed the second AA but Roman kicked out of it. Shortly after, Cena was caught in a Superman Punch but even Reigns failed to get a pinfall.
John Cena took Reigns up the top rope and delivered an AA from up high but even then Reigns kicked out at two. Cena went outside and cleared the announce tables before setting Reigns for another AA on them but Roman caught Cena in a spear, sending him through ne of the tables.
Cena regained control of the match shortly after and hit Reigns with two AA's back to back but Reigns shocked everyone by kicking out at 2. Reigns delivered a Superman Punch catching Cena off-guard and followed it immediately with a spear. Reigns went for the win the official counted to three marking the Samoan's victory over his toughest match yet.
