Latest rumours on back-up plan for WHC at SummerSlam in Cena's absence

Triple threat match at WWE SummerSlam?

With John Cena’s recent injury, there is a cloud of doubt on whether he will be able to challenge Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in a little over 10 days’ time at WWE SummerSlam. There is conjecture about a possible fall-back consisting of a triple threat match between Seth Rollins, Randy Orton and Sheamus for the title.

This is perhaps why this week’s RAW ended with Sheamus’ interference possibly costing Orton (Rollins could’ve kicked out of the divebomb into an RKO) and The Viper getting one back by RKOing Sheamus and preventing The Celtic Warrior from cashing in his Money In The Bank briefcase on a prone Rollins (who still could’ve kicked out).

The WWE is evidently playing its cards close to the chest and who knows, we might still see a match between Cena and Rollins for the big belt at SummerSlam.
