Big E Langston

Since Dolph Ziggler became a babyface, Big E Langston was embroiled in a feud with Ziggler. When AJ and The Showoff had a bitter public breakup, it seemed like AJ might go after Big E, which is what exactly happened.

But Langston was dead serious to not be get involved with AJ. Instead, he continued his gimmick of being a bodyguard. But the feud between Ziggler, Big E and AJ quickly subsided.

With Kaitlyn’s involvement in the feud, they fought a tag team match. Later, Kaitlyn’s time in the championship feud was done and Big E was nowhere to be seen. Until a few weeks ago, when he interrupted Punk, and both of them went on to have a match.

The match turned out to be good. But things changed when Paul heyman called Big E a rookie. So when Ryback and Axel tried to attack Punk on Smackdown, Langston showed no soubts about taking offence about Heyman’s opinion about him. In the process of attacking Ryback and Axel, Lansgston became a babyface.

All this built up to him being attacked by Ryback and Axel on RAW and CM Punk coming out to even the odds, which led to Vickie Gyerrero come out and pull a Teddy Long move and making a tag team match.

Big E was aggressive and every bit the powerful specimen that the WWE has been talking about. His particular in ring chemistry with Ryback was good.

Given that Ryback’s only problem has been not having an opponent who makes him look good, Langston can be a good adversary. Two powerhouses colliding is not a novel sight in the WWE but these two are quite agile and quick if placed against each other. Langston’s belly to belly superflex on Ryback was particularly a stand out move in the match.

Though it looks like Langston will be involved in the Intercontinental title picture, he should sometime later get involved in a feud with Ryback.

Ryback’s particular jab at Langston when he said “Have some manners” was unintentionally funny but good. It’s better to have Paul Heyman do what he does best and talk incessantly, but also having Ryback pull out a statement here and there is a nice touch.

Anyway, Langston finally seems to be getting some steady time on WWE television and deservedly so. And chances are he might just take away the title from Axel this Sunday at Hell In A Cell.
