WWE Survivor Series WarGames 2024 is set to stream this weekend. Fans are excited for the big event in Canada, which will feature three championship bouts and two WarGames Matches.
While there is a lot of hype heading into the big premium live event, World Wrestling Entertainment has one more stop before the show: Friday Night SmackDown. The blue brand's next episode will be airing on the USA Network this Friday.
Technically, SmackDown has already been taped, and the matches and major in-ring segments have been posted online. With that being said, the company rightly and smartly avoids airing all the backstage promos and altercations in front of the live crowd, thus making them still a surprise. Come Friday, Paul Heyman could be in some of these.
This article will take a look at four things The Wiseman might do on SmackDown if he is indeed in some of these backstage segments. He just returned to television last week, so all eyes will be on the former manager of Brock Lesnar. What could he do?
Below are four things Paul Heyman could do on SmackDown before WWE Survivor Series WarGames.
#4. He could declare that CM Punk is now his client again
Paul Heyman's return to WWE SmackDown last week was epic. The OG Bloodline and the new Bloodline were in the ring, and some wondered if they would come to blows or if Roman Reigns would give up thanks to the group being down a man compared to the opposition.
Instead, Heyman returned after months away and revealed he had secured a fifth man for the OG Bloodline at Survivor Series WarGames ahead of their five-on-five bout. That man turned out to be former WWE Champion and long-time Heyman associate CM Punk.
Come SmackDown, Paul could reveal that Punk is officially his client again moving forward. This doesn't mean he would stop working with The Bloodline and Roman Reigns, but instead, he would divide his time between RAW and SmackDown each week.
#3. Paul Heyman could demand an apology from Roman Reigns for the OTC ghosting him
The relationship between Paul Heyman and Roman Reigns in WWE has been an interesting one. They used to be foes thanks to Paul's connection to Brock Lesnar, but they aligned in 2020 and have mostly been as thick as thieves ever since then.
With that being said, things went awry after WrestleMania 40. Roman Reigns disappeared from television and didn't keep in contact with Heyman. This allowed the WWE Hall of Famer to be abused and victimized by Solo Sikoa and the new Bloodline.
Fast forward to SmackDown, and Paul Heyman might demand an apology from the OTC. Roman ghosting was disrespectful to someone he likely considers a friend. Worse yet, it led to Heyman getting brutally beaten up. Needless to say, an apology would certainly be warranted.
#2. He could confront Solo Sikoa on WWE SmackDown
June 28th, 2024 was a big day for Paul Heyman, but not in the way he'd have hoped. WWE held an episode of Friday Night SmackDown live from Madison Square Garden. While Heyman walked into the arena that day, he would be stretchered out.
After weeks of tension between himself, Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, and Jacob Fatu, Heyman was told to acknowledge Sikoa as his Tribal Chief. Paul refused and was beaten mercilessly. He then received a Shield Powerbomb through the announce table.
Paul was clearly terrified of Solo Sikoa and company when Roman Reigns was gone. However, now with Roman back alongside The Usos, Sami Zayn, and CM Punk, Heyman likely feels comfortable enough to confront Sikoa. He could approach the so-called Tribal Chief and warn him about the pain coming his way Saturday for what Sikoa did to the WWE Hall of Famer.
#1. Heyman could reveal he is done with The Bloodline after Survivor Series WarGames
As noted, Paul Heyman joined up with The Bloodline in 2020. He and Roman Reigns were the first to unite, but The Usos quickly followed. From there, The Bloodline experienced unprecedented success in WWE.
With that being said, there were ups and downs. The aforementioned assault and being ghosted by Roman Reigns was bad, but he and Roman had tension many times before then. He was also attacked on several occasions, including by Brock Lesnar.
In a backstage segment on WWE SmackDown, Paul could tell Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso, Roman Reigns, and Sami Zayn that after WarGames, he would be done with The Bloodline. This would be shocking news, but it could allow him to start anew and hopefully be safer without having to deal with the dangerous family and stable.
