Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair are widely regarded as two of the greatest women's wrestlers of all time. The multi-time champions have played key roles in WWE's Women's Revolution while teaming up numerous times, and doing battle even more. There has been talk of real-life heat between Flair and Lynch for years, and now the Irish Superstar has issued a very curious statement on the matter.
The Man and The Queen have shared the ring almost 350 times since 2014. Flair and Lynch have teamed up more than 150 times, more than any other duo, and they have gone against each other almost 200 times. The history between these two top women's wrestlers goes back to 2014 in NXT, and they were friends at one point, but an unscripted moment between the two in November 2021 revealed how there was backstage heat, and that Becky and Charlotte were barely on good terms.
Sources later reported that Flair and Lynch had reconciled, but nothing has been said about their status since then. During an appearance at the Vulture Festival this weekend, Big Time Becks was asked about their relationship. It was noted that they may have worked themselves into a shoot, but Lynch laughed and said that's a good way to put it. The 37-year-old was then asked where she and Flair stand now.
"Um... [laughs] [Host: No comment?] No. No, no, no... No comment, you never say no comment, that's awful. No, no... Yeah, you know? Like, fine... We'll work together, we're not calling each other for a chat, or for a pint. (...) There's always, there's always going to be love there, on my end, you know? On my end... there's always going to be love, respect, and admiration. I think that's when things become the most tumultuous, is when you have that love, and then you feel these two needs, and these two object lives, essentially just pulling away from each other," Becky Lynch said. The Man then went on to say that Charlotte will be one of the stars who will always be associated with her and their feuds will be their lasting memory in the fans' minds.
"To then bring it back to your question about kayfabe, and people are always going to be interested in that because what is underneath all of it, what are we seeing on TV, what is what's going on, what's bubbling under the surface, and when is that fight going to turn into a shoot fight. It has happened many times [laughs]." [From 41:53 to 42:46]
The last Charlotte Flair vs. Becky Lynch singles bout came at Survivor Series 2021, where then-RAW Women's Champion Lynch defeated then-SmackDown Women's Champion Flair. The last time they teamed up was at SmackDown on November 24, 2023, where the Horsewomen were defeated by Asuka and Bayley.
Becky Lynch thanked The Rock
Becky Lynch is still enjoying her time off from WWE. While husband Seth Rollins is still working a somewhat limited schedule, the family seems to be spending more time together as of late, which is documented by Lynch on social media.
Lynch, Rollins, and daughter Roux attended the world premiere of Disney's Moana 2 movie this past week. The Man took to Instagram to thank the lead actor, The Rock, for the premiere passes.
"I can’t think of a better example for my daughter of following your heart, trusting yourself, being brave and an all round badass than Moana. So what can we say except thank you @therock for making some magic and family memories at the Moana 2 premiere. Whole fam styled by @kingtroi," Becky Lynch wrote with the photos below.
Becky Lynch still has not wrestled since losing the RAW Steel Cage match to Women's World Champion Liv Morgan on May 27. While her contract expired on June 1, Lynch is still listed on WWE's internal roster and is rumored to return in the near future.
