WWE Superstar Chelsea Green recently took to social media to send a heartfelt message after her real-life husband Matt Cardona (fka Zack Ryder in WWE) underwent surgery.

Cardona started her career with World Wrestling Entertainment in 2005. He shifted to the main roster in 2007 alongside Curt Hawkins, and they aligned with Edge (aka Adam Copeland in AEW). Zack Ryder made a huge name in the Stamford-based promotion and won several titles before getting released from the company in 2020 as part of COVID-19 budget cuts.

Since his release, Cardona has revived himself on the independent wrestling scene, where he has won multiple World Titles. The Indie God recently made a one-off appearance on AEW, where he accepted an open challenge from Adam Copeland for the TNT Championship, but ended up losing the match.

The former Intercontinental Champion, unfortunately, recently tore his pectoral muscle and underwent surgery. His real-life wife and current RAW star Chelsea Green took to X/Twitter to upload a photo with her husband and added a caption that read:

"He’s off to the OR [heart emoji] @TheMattCardona," Green wrote.

Former WWE Superstar Matt Cardona updated his fans about his injury on social media

Matt Cardona recently took to X/Twitter to update his fans about his successful surgery. He thanked everyone who reached out. The Indy God especially thanked his wife Chelsea Green for being by his side.

"Surgery done. The road to recovery starts now. Thanks to all who reached out. Thanks to @ImChelseaGreen for being by my side. Thanks to @DarylOsbahrMD for fixing me. You can’t kill me…I’m already dead," Matt Cardona wrote.

Many fans want to see Cardona return to WWE soon. It will be interesting to see if the star is planning to make a comeback to the Stamford-based promotion anytime soon.

We at Sportskeeda wish Matt Cardona a speedy recovery and hope he returns stronger than ever.
