Cody Rhodes' SmackDown segment exposed WWE's careless booking, claims wrestling veteran: "Are you idiots?" (Exclusive)

Former WWE head writer Vince Russo recently shared his thoughts on Cody Rhodes' final segment on SmackDown. The former Undisputed WWE Champion was on the blue brand this week.

Cody walked into the ring for the final segment of the show. His entrance came during the aftermath of Seth Rollins, Bronson Reed, and Bron Breakker's attack on Penta and Andrade. This ambush was to ensure that all of Seth's opponents at Money in the Bank were softened up before the PLE.

This week on BroDown with host Mac Davis, Russo pointed out that Cody entered the ring when he was outnumbered three-to-one. However, he noticed that when Jey Uso was coming out, he spent a good while pandering to the fans in attendance. The veteran writer felt the heels should have attacked Cody by then. He felt small details like this exposed the lackluster creative effort put in by the writing team.

"Let's just talk about some things. Guys, it's like, come on, man. You got three heels in the ring and Cody Rhodes. Here comes Jey Uso, and he's gonna stop and pick up a little girl. It's stuff like that. Are you idiots? Like seriously, his buddy is in the ring, outmanned three-to-one. And to add insult to injury, he picks up the little girl, and the heels do nothing to Cody Rhodes." [From 4:12 onwards]

To make matters worse, Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso were faced with an ambush from John Cena and Logan Paul. The two megastars destroyed the babyfaces and sent out a strong message before their tag team matchup at Money in the Bank.
