Ever since Damian Priest won the World Heavyweight Championship, he has been struggling to establish himself as a worthy champion. This is due to The Judgment Day constantly interfering in his business despite his repeated instructions not to interfere in his matches and segments.
Priest made it clear on multiple occasions that he did not need Judgment Day to win his matches. Tonight, during the Money in the Bank PLE, Priest informed his stablemates, especially Finn Balor, that he did not need their help. Balor didn't look like he believed Priest could win his match as he replied, "Whatever you want boss."

During his title match against Seth Rollins, Drew McIntyre, who won the Money in the Bank ladder match earlier in the night, cashed in his contract. However, CM Punk soon interfered and ambushed him from behind. This allowed Damian Priest to pick up the win and retain his title.
Therefore, Priest was able to prove his stablemates wrong as they didn't believe that he could win without their help.
According to stipulations for this match, Seth Rollins will not be able to challenge Priest for the title as long as he remains champion.
