Damian Priest suffering due to WWE's "fascination" with another popular star; feels former employee (Exclusive)

Former WWE head writer Vince Russo feels the company is pushing Sami Zayn at the expense of Damian Priest. Sami was in the main event of RAW this week defending the Intercontinental Championship against Ilja Dragunov.

The show also saw the World Heavyweight Champion Priest clashing against Braun Strowman. However, The Judgment Day member didn't get the main event spot on the card. Priest took advantage of Strowman's injured knee and focused his attacks there. He closed the contest with a South of Heaven chokeslam for an impressive win.

On the latest episode of Sportskeeda Wrestling's Legion of RAW, Russo questioned WWE's fascination with Sami Zayn. He pointed out that Damian Priest should have been the main event of the show since he was the World Heavyweight Championship taking on Braun Strowman.

"I will never understand the whole Sami Zayn thing." He continued, "I don't know what the fascination is with this freaking guy that he's in a main event over Damian Priest. I don't understand it, bro. I don't get it." [From 12:14 onwards]

In the aftermath of the encounter, Priest and Gunther engaged in a brawl. The champ cleared the ring and stood tall sending a strong message to his challenger ahead of their blockbuster clash at SummerSlam.
