Hogan first met the President of the United States in the 1980s when Trump Plaza hosted back-to-back WrestleManias. The two men later became close friends, with Hogan publicly endorsing the 79-year-old's 2024 presidential campaign.

Blair told Sportskeeda Wrestling Senior Editor Bill Apter that a letter from Trump was read out at Hogan's memorial service on August 5:

"His manager read a letter from President Trump, a wonderful letter from President Trump, to Terry. He [Donald Trump] was not there. He was there in spirit, and very nice, heartfelt note, and they became very, very close friends. I mean, I know some things that I can't even say right here that are very moving, but I'd rather not." Donald Trump watched B. Brian Blair and Hulk Hogan in WWE

In 1988, Donald Trump watched from ringside as B. Brian Blair suffered a nasty cut during a Battle Royal at WrestleMania 4. The following year, he was in attendance again to witness Hulk Hogan's WWE Championship win over Randy Savage.

According to Blair, Trump offered to call an ambulance for him after seeing blood drip down his face near the barricade:

"When I was bleeding, I hit the post, and nobody's watching me, they're all watching the Battle Royal when we were in New Jersey. I'm trying to get some help, and this nice-dressed guy in a suit comes up with a towel, a handkerchief, and says, 'Here, you're bleeding bad,' and he puts it on me and said, 'I'm calling the ambulance for you right now.' I said, 'Well, thank you, sir, I really appreciate it.' I didn't even realize it was Donald Trump until people told me." [14:54 – 15:38]
