Michael Cole is the voice of WWE. The extensive role has put the veteran star in many interesting situations over the years, whether backstage or on-screen. Now, a top name with a special relationship with Cole has revealed exactly what happened in a very unfortunate incident.

Vickie Guerrero's "Thanksgiving Leftovers Party" was held backstage on WWE SmackDown in November 2013. A food-eating contest between Titus O'Neil and The Great Khali ended with The Punjabi Playboy passing out face-first into a pie. Darren Young declared his partner the winner, while the SmackDown General Manager revealed the winning prize to a suffering Titus: a match with Cesaro.

The Real Deal was on the verge of vomiting after consuming so many traditional Thanksgiving trimmings and had a few close calls during the match until his opponent began the Cesaro Swing. Young rushed in for the DQ to save his sick partner from the Swing.

Titus got sick and puked into JBL's hat after the match. An angry Layfield left as Titus let vomit fly on Cole while placing the puke-filled hat onto Cole's head. The broadcaster went down and crawled away while trying to stop himself from throwing up. Titus then puked on Zeb Colter and his own hand.

The Wrestling God discussed the abhorrent storyline during the premiere of Sportskeeda Wrestling's brand new "What Were They Thinking with JBL & Brisco" series. Layfield revealed why the post-match segment went wrong.

"Titus O'Neil was to throw up on camera, but he was supposed to drink this stuff, and spew it like a vomit projectile. Titus made a mistake, thought he was supposed to drink it down, and it would make him throw up. He literally was going to throw up on Michael Cole's head, that's what he was going to do," JBL said. JBL continued and recalled O'Neil vomiting on Cole's head. He also remembered a headset exchange between Cole and Vince McMahon.

"Titus drinks this stuff down because he thinks it's supposed to make him throw up, not just spew the peas and stuff out. He actually throws up on Cole's head on live television. Cole then says, 'I feel like I'm at a frat party back in college again!' Vince McMahon goes, 'Quit bringing it up!' Michael was like, 'You had a guy throw up on me!' [laughs]," JBL said. Titus currently works as a WWE Global Ambassador. After an Arena Football League stint, the inaugural WWE 24/7 Champion began his wrestling career in 2009 but quietly retired in 2021 after receiving the Warrior Award as part of the WWE Hall of Fame 2020 Class. The 47-year-old has not wrestled since Bobby Lashley squashed him on the November 9, 2020 RAW.

Michael Cole's farewell to FOX after WWE deal ends

WWE SmackDown returned to the USA Network this past Friday night for the first time since 2019. The September 6 edition was the blue brand's final episode on FOX as their five-year deal came to an end.

Michael Cole called the final SmackDown on FOX with Corey Graves. The Voice of WWE signed off with a touching message to the network.

"We had record ratings for both SmackDown and FOX on Friday nights. We want to say a sincere thank you to all the men and women in front of the camera and behind the scenes at FOX for making the last five years a wonderful part of WWE. Thank you. Until we meet again," Michael Cole said.

SmackDown's return to the USA Network was also the season premiere episode. The show featured Triple H, Roman Reigns, a big Steel Cage match for the Undisputed Championship, and other significant happenings.
