"I hate that for him" - Fans convinced ex-champion is "getting done DIRTY" by WWE on TV

WWE fans took to Twitter as they were convinced an ex-champion was not being treated well by the Stamford-based promotion on TV. The star in question is Baron Corbin.

On the latest edition of NXT, the WWE Universe was treated with many top main roster stars. One of them was LA Knight, who appeared as a special guest referee for the match between Dominik Mysterio and Ilja Dragunov for the NXT Championship.

Baron Corbin was in a backstage segment just before the bout started. He was seen complaining about the opportunity given to Dirty Dom for the gold and not him. However, he was left frustrated when WWE cued Knight's theme while the former United States Champion was in the middle of his segment.

A fan noticed this and posted a snippet from the interview on Twitter, which caught other Twitter users' attention, and they started commenting on the post.

Some were convinced that WWE had not shown respect to Corbin by doing this. While others believed it could be his actual gimmick, where he feels like he doesn't get the respect he deserves.

Baron Corbin said he is trying to achieve what John Cena and Roman Reigns have during their illustrious WWE careers

During a recent interview with WrestleZone, Baron Corbin explained that Roman Reigns and John Cena's characters have become famous just because they are not forced to do something they do not love. Corbin further added that he wants his career to end up like them.

"I think when you look at Roman Reigns right now, he's just bringing himself out to the table. The same with guys like Cena; he is not a character. Cena is a guy who personifies 'never give up.' He is awesome in what he does, and those guys are just out there doing what they do and feel versus portraying something they're not. I think that’s why they had the magnitude and the career that they had. That’s kind of where I'm trying to get to," said Corbin.

Fans want to see the former United States Champion go into a feud with LA Knight after he was cut off because of the latter's theme on this week's episode of NXT. Let's see what WWE has in store for him.
