WWE News: John Cena to make big announcement on Today Show

What will John Cena have to announce  tomorrow?

What’s the Story?

John Cena took to Twitter to tease a big announcement tomorrow when he appears on the Today Show.

His first announcement came today when he asked Al Roker to be his guest ring announcer, but he tweeted that his appearance tomorrow would make for “unBULLieveable news!”

In case you didn’t know

Cena will team up with his girlfriend, Nikki Bella, to take on the team of The Miz and Maryse in a mix tag team match. This marks the lowest profile match of Cena’s career at WrestleMania since WrestleMania 31 when he defeated Rusev to win the United States Championship.

The rumour behind this mixed tag team match is that the match will eventually lead to Cena and Nikki getting engaged at WrestleMania. There is also speculation that Nikki will retire after WrestleMania. Ending her career with a wrestling victory and an engagement could be a great sendoff.

The heart of the matter

Cena’s Tweet is as follows:

Some people have speculated that it could be a reference to his former tag team partner Bull Buchanan, but that wouldn’t make much sense considering that Buchanan has been retired since 2014.

The announcement could possibly be related to The Rock, who is known as The Brahma Bull, but that begs the question why The Rock isn’t making this possible announcement himself.

Cena is rumoured to be taking time off after WrestleMania 33 to go and film Daddy’s Home 2, so the announcement will likely have nothing to do with that.

What’s next?

Tune into the Today show tomorrow to see what the Face that Runs the Place announces.

Cena has been one to hint at a variety of things on his social media pages, specifically Instagram, so there’s a chance he may have been embellishing. However, we are very close to WrestleMania 33, so it could definitely be something relating to that as well.

Author’s take

Cena’s announcement tomorrow will likely be very important if he is hyping it up on Twitter. This could be nothing more than a storyline angle similar to how Seth Rollins and Jon Stewart, formerly of The Daily Show, interacted and lead to an angle later down the line.

Whatever the case may be, we’re definitely in for some type of surprise from Big Match John.
