Nikki Bella gives honest reaction to recent WWE return backlash

Nikki Bella shared her honest reaction to backlash from WWE fans following her return last week on RAW. The veteran was confronted by Women's Tag Team Champion Liv Morgan during last week's show.

Speaking on The Nikki & Brie Show, the former Divas Champion reacted to fan backlash after Women's World Champion IYO SKY told the veteran she helped pave the way for her last week on WWE RAW.

Nikki Bella claimed that most of the hate came from ignorant men and suggested that being in the wrestling business involves much more than what happens in the ring.

"They’ll hear about you paving a way because you know somebody will make comments when IYO SKY said that to me… But, what they don’t realize is paving the road isn’t just about doing moves and what happened in the ring. It’s also what happened outside of the ring and what it’s done for women’s wrestling as a whole and I get for some of the young people -- or some of the ignorant men. Let’s just be honest. I don’t even give a sh*t. They don’t get it. Because they’re just thinking moveset and they’re thinking wins and championships," she said. [H/T: Fightful]

Bella returned last week to promote WWE Evolution 2. Liv Morgan interrupted the Hall of Famer and planted her with an Oblivion. There have been recent rumors that Brie Bella could be returning to the company as well.

Former WWE writer reacts to Nikki Bella's return

Wrestling legend Vince Russo recently shared his thoughts on Nikki Bella's return to the company.

Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's BroDown show, Russo stated that the company brought Nikki Bella back to get better ratings. He suggested that Netflix may have wanted to add some star power to the women's division on WWE RAW.

"Bro, I don't think she fits the women's roster at all. But I think this is what we've been talking about all along. Those numbers on Netflix continue to go down. Netflix, they want star power, bro. They don't know Giulia, the don't know the girl with the ram horns. They think Lyra Valkyria stinks. That's why Nikki was brought back into the fold. Only reason, bro." [From 9:53 onwards]
