NXT comes to Toronto twice in the Survivor Series week

The tapings leading up to NXT Takeover:Toronto are completely done. Even the two pending second round matches of The Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic were taped this previous Saturday in San Jose, which means that the semi-finals of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic are set, as is the full Toronto card.

There were doubts as to how the post-Toronto tapings would go about since they would seemingly be short of one show. However, it seems that the question is now answered, as there will be tapings happening right before the episode of Smackdown Live on 22nd November.

Normally, there are tapings of two or three matches (maximum) during Takeover specials to put as a filler for the post-special episode.

Normally two episodes post-specials are used as fillers, but since it will directly be after Toronto, where stars like Shinsuke Nakamura, Asuka, Samoa Joe and Bobby Roode are featured, the tapings may be quite entertaining and may not just contain filler matches.

The first episode post-Takeover though is almost guaranteed to be a filler one. Perhaps it will feature the likes of Andrade “Cien” Almas, Billie Kay, Peyton Royce, Liv Morgan, Ember Moon, etc. who do not have matches on the Takeover card.

This weekend is a continuation in what looks to be a tradition of making a weekend out of the Big Four Pay-Per-Views. It happened for Wrestlemania, Summerslam and will be happening for Survivor Series. Don’t be surprised to hear the announcement of NXT Takeover: San Antonio this coming January for the Royal Rumble weekend.

Here is NXT General Manager William Regal announcing the main event of Takeover: Toronto:

Toronto will also see the return of former Women’s Champion Mickie James for the first time in over six years:
