Sami Zayn has reacted to a surprising betrayal following the main event of last week's edition of WWE RAW at the Bell Centre in Montreal.

The veteran got a tremendous reaction from his hometown crowd ahead of his Intercontinental Championship defense against Chad Gable in last week's main event. Chad Gable helped prepare Sami Zayn for his match against Gunther at WrestleMania XL but was unable to pick up the victory last week.

As Zayn was celebrating with his wife at ringside, Gable snuck up behind him and hit a German Suplex. Gable then continued to attack Zayn for several minutes after the match specifically targeting his leg. The Intercontinental Champion has finally responded to the attack today.

Ahead of tomorrow night's episode of WWE RAW, Zayn addressed Chad Gable's sneak attack on social media. He took to Instagram and noted that Gable's attack last week was as dirty as it could get.

"As low down and dirty as it gets," he wrote.

Bill Apter reacted to Chad Gable betraying Sami Zayn last week on WWE RAW

Legendary wrestling journalist Bill Apter shared his thoughts following Chad Gable's betrayal of Sami Zayn last Monday night in Montreal.

Speaking on Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Time Machine podcast, Apter discussed Gable's heel turn after the main event of last week's episode of RAW. He stated that he enjoyed the veteran more as a babyface because he once viewed him as the next Kurt Angle.

"Gable was a heel before, obviously, but he went completely crazy in Sami Zayn's hometown, so to get heat from that audience, even the home audience watching it, not in Canada, is like, 'Oh my God, they're doing this to Sami'. It was a good move. I kinda like Chad Gable more of the face, of the babyface, because to me, he was the next coming of Kurt Angle," said Apter. [From 03:08 - 03:36]
