WWE Superstar CM Punk was extremely emotional following his loss to Drew McIntyre at the SummerSlam 2024 Premium Live Event. It was the Second City Saint's first singles match since his return to the Stamford-based promotion in 2023.

After making his electrifying return at the Survivor Series: WarGames 2023 Premium Live Event, Punk competed in the 2024 Men's Royal Rumble Match. However, the Best in the World suffered an unfortunate injury during the bout, which forced him to be out of in-ring action for months. Although the former World Heavyweight Champion could not wrestle, he still gave fans one of the best feuds with Drew McIntyre.

After fully recovering from his injury at the end of last month, CM Punk finally wrestled in his first singles match in the Stamford-based company after a decade against McIntyre with Seth Rollins serving as the Special Guest Referee at The Biggest Party of The Summer. However, the bout ended in The Scottish Warrior's favor.

Kenny Bolin was surprised by CM Punk's match against Drew McIntyre at WWE SummerSlam 2024

During an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda Wrestling, Kenny Bolin said that he always thought that CM Punk only cared about himself.

However, Bolin was surprised to see that Punk agreed to lose in his first singles match at SummerSlam after returning to WWE.

"I've always viewed Punk as a selfish f**k who just wanted what was best for him. That's how I've always viewed him. Tonight, he showed me different. Whether he had any say in the matter or not, I don't know. But he did take the fall. I wasn't looking for it. I figured his first match back in 10 years, that f***er's gonna win, it's probably in his contract. And he didn't. So my hats off to him for doing that," Kenny Bolin said.
