Sami Zayn challenged Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship in the main event of the October 7 edition of WWE RAW. The two performers went back and forth in a highly competitive match, which ended with The Ring General locking his opponent in a sleeper hold to retain his title.
Current WWE Champion wants to team up with Sami Zayn
Ahead of his championship clash with Gunther, Sami Zayn teamed up with former stablemate Jey Uso to take on Finn Balor and JD McDonagh. The former Bloodline members defeated the World Tag Team Champions. Following their impressive showing, Uso expressed his desire to form a tag team with Zayn.
In a recent interview with Metro.co.uk, Jey Uso opened up about his real-life friendship with Sami Zayn. The Intercontinental Champion stated that the latter helped his character during their time in The Bloodline. The 39-year-old claimed he wants to be in a full-blown tag team with his former stablemate.
"Sami [Zayn] definitely helped my character. I know we hated each other on screen, but we really love each other in the back but it just came off on TV so organically. I want to work with him. Now I want to. You will have [a] little glimpse of me and him on RAW but man, I really want to go, like, full-blown tag team with him and try to see how that goes," he said. [H/T: Metro.co.uk]
