Sheamus' WWE comeback has been among the most celebrated developments of the past week.

Recently, wrestling veteran Eric Bischoff revealed that he too was happy to see The Celtic Warrior back and hoped for the former World Champion to have a strong run leading into WrestleMania 41.

The 46-year-old superstar had been out of action since August 2023 due to a neck injury, which briefly even threatened to end his in-ring career. Sheamus, however, returned to the ring on the most recent RAW episode, defeating Ivar in a singles match and looking great in doing so.

As expected, Sheamus received a great reception upon his return, and Eric Bischoff noted on his podcast that the Irish star was out for just enough time to make fans want to miss him. Sheamus is an established name, and Bischoff firmly believed that the future was bright for the former World Champion, leading to WrestleMania in 2025. The Hall of Famer stated that the returning star should focus more on the crucial 12 months ahead of him.

"He has been off long enough that he is like the 'absence makes the heart grow fonder factor' has kicked it, it feels fresh. Yeah, would it have been nice if Sheamus had a story starting six months or a year ago, or perhaps it would have built to WrestleMania? Sure, that would have been nice. But if I'm Sheamus right now, I'm looking at what happens to me over the next 12 months. What am I going to be doing looking forward to the next WrestleMania because he has got a clear runway, and he's got some support behind him." [From 36:06 to 36:35]

Eric Bischoff is excited to see how WWE uses Sheamus

2024 marks Sheamus' 18th year in WWE, and it's evident that he's done very well for himself in the company. A former Royal Rumble winner, The Celtic Warrior has had multiple stints at the top, but unlike past occasions, he has a big reason to be thrilled about his next chapter in WWE.

Eric Bischoff, who has praised the creative changes under the Triple H regime, stated that Sheamus will now be working under a writing team, which is the best it's ever been in WWE.

"He has got a great creative team behind him now. I mean, functionally, WWE creative, I think, has never been close to the level of efficiency and quality of work we're seeing now. Evidence is by what we've seen on screen. And if I'm Sheamus, this is like a whole new lease of life." [From 36:35 to 36:54]

Eric Bischoff recalled that Sheamus was one of the first people he interacted with extensively and developed a great relationship with during his brief WWE backstage run in 2019.
