WWE Superstar Big E took to Twitter to share an update on his injury. The New Day member suffered an unfortunate neck injury on this week's edition of SmackDown.

During a match against Ridge Holland, Big E landed on his head as Holland attempted a belly-to-belly suplex move on him. The former NXT Champion ultimately had to be stretchered away as he flashed a thumbs-up to the crowd on his way out of the arena.

It was later reported that the former WWE Champion suffered a broken neck in the accident.

Ettore recently provided another update on his health status, stating that he has C-1 and C-6 fractures but no damage to his spinal cord or ligaments. The SmackDown Superstar also thanked the fans for their constant support in a video message on Twitter:

"So I got some really good news, all things considered. The C1 and C6 are indeed fracture, no displacement though, which is a very good thing. I don't have any damage to my spinal cord, no ligament damage, and no surgery, which I'm very thankful for it. A pro tip, if you're going to break your neck, do it in Birmingham. They've been great. Everyone here has been great. But for real it's meant a ton to me that so many of you have been so kind and reached out and stopped in to see me. I feel like I sound like a broken record, but I am very grateful and I''ll be alright," said Big E.

Multiple WWE stars reacted to Big E's horrendous injury

Over the years, Big E has been one of the most beloved people in the wrestling industry. Known for his power of positivity and fun-loving nature, the SmackDown superstar is loved by his fans and peers alike.

Love and support has poured in for Big E since he suffered a career-altering injury on SmackDown this week. Quite a few big names sent their wishes to the former WWE Champion after his unfortunate injury, including a lot of his current and former peers.

With his injury, the former Intercontinental Champion is now sidelined for the foreseeable future. Recent reports from Sean Ross Sapp on Fightful Select indicated that the company had big plans in mind for Ettore at WrestleMania 38.

The former WWE Champion was set to be paired up with his The New Day stablemates Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods at The Showcase of Immortals. However, his unfortunate injury has put a dent in those plans and fans will have to wait a little longer to see their beloved trio in the ring again.

We wish The New Day member the absolute best in his recovery and hope to see him return to the ring better than ever.
