A former WWE manager recently stated that he was not impressed with Jey Uso's in-ring work amid his rising popularity in the wrestling industry. Jim Cornette, who rarely minces his words, believes that The Yeet Master's work was "sloppy."

Although Jey was a tag team competitor for the better part of his career, over the last few years, he has come into his own as a singles performer. Memorable feuds with Roman Reigns, his brother Jimmy Uso, and his recent run with the Intercontinental Championship have made The Yeet Master one of the most beloved names in WWE.

Jey Uso also ranks among the top merchandise sellers in the Stamford-based promotion, which indicates how much popularity he enjoys. However, Jim Cornette was not very impressed with his work. On a recent episode of his Jim Cornette's Drive-Thru podcast, Cornette was critical of Jey's in-ring abilities. With that being said, the WWE veteran acknowledged that his gimmick was working wonders with the fanbase.

"We've talked about this a million times and his (Jey Uso) place in The Bloodline is integral because he is a member of the family but godda*n that sloppy work is killing me. But they've hit on something here. People like Yeet and they are a part of the entrance and they like being a part of the whole thing. Waving the hands, flashing the lights, and wearing the Yeet shirts. So, it doesn't surprise me," Jim Cornette said. [0:30 - 1:00]

Former WWE manager Jim Cornette does not think Jey Uso is at Roman Reigns' or Rikishi's level

Jim Cornette further explained that Jey Uso could get better with improved timing in the squared circle. He also mentioned that regardless of his rising popularity, The Yeet Master was nowhere near the level of Roman Reigns and of the other members of the legendary Anoa'i family, including his father, Rikishi.

"He could clean up a few things, it wouldn't hurt his Yeeting or working his gimmick. Just the sloppy punches and a little better timing but he's not like Big Daddy or Bulldog Boby Brown. So, they're not having to hold their nose that badly. But, as an in-ring performer when you stack him up against Roman Reigns or Yokozuna or Rikishi and some other members of the family, I'm not as thrilled," Jim Cornette said. [2:07 - 2:45]

Jey recently reunited with Roman Reigns, Jimmy Uso, and Sami Zayn ahead of the Survivor Series: WarGames 2024 Premium Live Event, where they will participate in the Men's WarGames Match alongside CM Punk. The OG Bloodline will go to war with Solo Sikoa's Bloodline, which includes Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, and Bronson Reed.
