Legado del Fantasma has helped Santos Escobar extend his Cruiserweight Championship reign in WWE NXT. However, Escobar himself has proven time and time again why he deserves to remain the NXT Cruiserweight Champion.

Not only has Escobar played a great heel character since his turn following the Interim Cruiserweight Championship tournament, but he has also shown that he’s a superior in-ring worker. These unique qualities could allow creative to keep the title on him instead of Jordan Devlin.

Escobar has had fewer title defenses than Devlin since he’s had a shorter reign. At TakeOver: Stand & Deliver, Escobar could look to prove himself without the help of Raul Mendoza and Joaquin Wilde.

Escobar could drop the interim tag and become the sole NXT Cruiserweight Champion by climbing the ladder and pulling down the titles after taking out Devlin.

The Irish Ace has had a good reign as the champion. It’s time for Escobar to remain in the spotlight and extend his reign a little longer before passing on the title to another deserving NXT Superstar.
