Asuka and Rhea Ripley are set to face each other at WrestleMania for the RAW Women's Championship. Before their title bout at the Show Of Shows, Ripley accepted a challenge on behalf of herself and Asuka to face Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler on this week's RAW
The miscommunication was evident between the two rivals during the episode. They went out of their way to make things more difficult for themselves and Baszler and Jax took full advantage of it.
Rhea Ripley was not looking to gain momentum in the match by beating Jax and Baszler. Instead, she was there to make sure that Asuka was on the backfoot heading into the biggest PPV of the year.
During the match on RAW, Ripley suddenly turned on Asuka and pushed her off the top rope. She then slammed her face-first into the floor outside the ring. The Nightmare threw her in the ring and Shayna Baszler took her out before pinning the RAW Women's Champion.
Although Ripley lost as well, she clearly was not concerned about the outcome of the match. It was all about sending a message to her WrestleMania opponent, and that's exactly what she did.
